Can my PC run this game?
For a list of System Requirements for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, please visit the game’s Store Page.

You can also run a third-party app such as System Requirements Lab[www.systemrequirementslab.com] for more information regarding compatibility with your hardware. Please note that System Requirements Lab is not officially supported nor endorsed by Capcom.

Where can I find a manual for the game?
The game’s digital manual can be found here[game.capcom.com].

I’m having trouble running the game!
Please follow the steps outlined in the initial post of the Official MvC:I Bug Reporting Thread to help resolve your issue.

I'm getting a "Failed to initialize network connection" error on startup.
If you have just recently installed the game and receive this error, try initializing your save data. Please note that performing the following steps will erase any previous progress made in the game.

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE\MVCI\Saved\SaveGames and delete the Battle.sav, Replay.sav, and System.sav files from your computer
  2. Launch Steam, then select View > Settings > Cloud and uncheck “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications which support it”
  3. Relaunch Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and create new save data
  4. Re-enable the option you had turned off in Step 2.
  5. The next time you start up the game, you will be prompted whether to prioritize Local Save Data or Cloud Save Data, as they will not match. Please choose to prioritize the Local Save Data.

What kind of controllers does Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on PC/Steam support?
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on PC/Steam natively supports the XInput (Xbox 360, Xbox One) and DirectInput (PlayStation 4) protocol for controllers. PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller may be used with the game, however some users may need to toggle a setting within Big Picture Mode to enable its usage. To properly enable DualShock 4 support within Steam, please follow these steps:

Note: Prior to launching Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, please ensure that any external controller re-mapper programs/apps such as Joy2Key, X360CE, XPadder and DS4WINDOWS are disabled, as they may interfere with the game.

  1. In the Steam client, click the controller-shaped “Big Picture Mode” icon at the top-right corner of the window.
  2. Select “Settings” > “Controller Settings” in Big Picture Mode and checkmark the “PS4 Configuration Support” setting.
  3. Reconnect your PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controller.
  4. Your controller is now ready to be used in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Please note that on-screen button prompts will still show up with a XInput layout.
  5. Optional: You can select Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in Big Picture mode and select “Manage Game” > “Controller Configuration” for more intricate DualShock 4 configuration.

Can one Player use a keyboard while the other uses a controller in 2-Player Local matches?
The keyboard always defaults to Player One, and having one controller plugged in will also default that controller to Player One, therefore we recommend using two controllers for 2-Player local matches.

Where is save data for the game located?

Local save data: Battle.sav / Replay.sav / System.sav
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE\MVCI\Saved\SaveGames

Steam Cloud save data – BOARD_FIGHTERCARD / BOARD_GAMEPROGRESS / BOARD_REPLAY – *We do not recommend removing Steam Cloud save data from the folder*

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your Steam ID]\493840

I’m having connection issues while playing online. What should I do?
Please follow these troubleshooting steps to help resolve your network-related issues:

Forward the necessary ports on your router
If you haven’t yet already, we recommend PC users forward the ports in this Steam guide. For a handy guide for port-forwarding, please click this link.

Ensure that other online devices are turned off prior to playing
Internet speeds of 15-20Mbps (Megabits per second) are oftentimes sufficient enough for online gaming. However, homes could have several devices connected to the internet at one time. If the home uses the internet for other things like streaming music, watching movies, and working from home, this can all put a strain on your bandwidth. We recommend ensuring other devices using the internet at home are turned off while playing online.

Refresh your modem and router
Try refreshing your modem and router connection by unplugging both devices for a few minutes, then re-plugging the modem, followed by the router. If other devices, such as a PC/Mac or smartphone are also connected and being used on the network, please disconnect or refrain from using them while playing online.

If using a router or CTU with a UPnP function, please confirm whether this function is ON. If it is OFF, please turn it ON and try connecting online again.

*If you are unsure of the appropriate setting regarding port opening and UPnP function, please contact your router manufacturer/provider.*

Finally, additional PPPoE settings may be required for your modem and/or router. For further details, please check with your Internet Service Provider.

If using WiFi, switch to a wired Ethernet connection
A wired Ethernet connection is recommended when playing Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite online. If you are already connected via Ethernet, try connecting the Ethernet cord from your PC directly to the modem, thereby bypassing your router.

Check your NAT (Network Address Translation) settings
Issues with connecting to a match online could be related to the NAT settings of your network. Network connections at universities / college dormitories, for example, generally impose some form of strict NAT (Network Address Translation) type which can cause issues with connecting to some online games. If you have strict NAT settings, you may have difficulty connecting to online game servers. We recommend double-checking the NAT settings for your PC to determine which type is set.

PC NAT settings can be found by accessing your modem / router’s menu. For more information on accessing this menu, please contact your modem / router manufacturer.

  1. NAT Type 1 (Open) – You are either not behind a router/firewall or you have DMZ enabled. This NAT type shouldn’t run into any issues while gaming, however this may cause security issues.
  2. NAT Type 2 (Moderate) –Your console / PC is connected properly and you shouldn’t run into any issues.
  3. NAT Type 3 (Strict) – You may be able to connect online and perform downloads/updates but other functions may not work as intended.

Check your Windows Firewall and Anti-virus settings
Your online experience for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite may improve by ensuring Windows Firewall is properly configured. Please ensure the MVCI.exe is added to your Windows Firewall and Anti-virus exceptions. MVCI.exe is located in two locations:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE
