The Khergit Khanate's name
This is really unimportant and stupid, but I love the developers for doing this.
When Ghengis Khan died back way back when, his territory was seperated into different Khanates. Like I said, this was a really stupid and pointless thread, and now that I'm thinking about it it's even stupider than I had ever imagined.

Not stupid. I like that the developers paid attention to historical details like that. Like the Vaegir cities all have Russian sounding names. Or how the Nordic lords are referred to as Jarls. You can actually learn things by playing this game!

M&B was inspired in part by a game called Ghengis Khan. I've never seen that game but I read that M&B was inspired by it on their site.

Here quote,
"According to Armağan Yavuz, the game's inspirations include Sid Meier's Pirates!, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, Frontier: Elite II, and older Koei strategy video games such as Genghis Khan, as well as historical fiction novels, particularly those by Bernard Cornwell.[11]"

This is the game - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genghis_Khan_(video_game)#Gameplay

You have a point, and now that I think about it, you're right about all of that.

And that's why the Mighty Golden hoard fell. His sons fought over who should be the Great Khan. Stalling the invasion of europe. That and their hit and run techniques weren't as effective when gunpowder hit the scene. But yes all the factions are somewhat based on real empires.

If you guys like this games historical accuracy try crusader kings 2 or europa universalis 4 and you'll really be blown away by the things you can learn pretty much noone else knows history wise and about the structure of government back then.

I am considering to buy Crusader Kings 2.

I tried the demos for EU4 and CK2 but had a lot of crashes and bugs so passed on buying the games. Apparently the full games get patches but the demos do not get patched so it is hard to tell if the full games would run properly or not before buying them. Also, no tech support is provided for the demos. Many people do not have issues but others do, so it is just a roll of the dice. I did however like the gameplay in both games.

Weird. Wouldn't you put a lot of effort in the demo so that people would actually buy your game?

Nebuchadnezzar, I said pretty much the same thing over on the Paradox forums. It makes no sense to me why they would choose to leave the demos unpatched.

I just don't even understand some people.
