One of the characters commits suicide during the game? (Spoiler?)
Okay. Bruce.

When you talk to him on the... second or third day after you can access the church, he says something about the happiest day on his life being when his daughter got born. When Mae asks about her he doesn't answer, and Mae says Sorry.

On the... fifth day maybe? He asks you to tell the pastor he is leaving (and only tomorrow, when he's gone). "Hopping on a train", going east, going with his daughter, etc. His depiction of what's going to happen after he "gets home" sounds more like... what he thinks of heaven. more like what he thinks would happen if his daughter was still alive.

The other day, when you tell the pastor Mae asks her why she isn't happy about him going home to his children, and she answers with silence and something like "Thank's for telling me".
His stuff appears to still be there in front of her like he left everything, and it's gone for the next day.

That is the conclusion I came to also, but it's hard to be completely sure.

That's what I assumed as well. There's a ledge to the right that seemingly drops off to no where. It always made me uncomfortable.

But then again, we're making assumptions.

Well, it's always possible that happened but i'd rather imagine he had a huge falling out in the past and was recently allowed to come back

I didn't think suicide at all. If anything I thought there was a chance the cultists got him (though I choose to be hopeful lol). And I thought the Pastor was just upset she couldn't help him.

If you guys value Word of God, Scott (the writer) said this about whether or not Bruce committed suicide:

"Not going to do a lot of post-game lore here but as far as I know: no, he did not."

I saw it as the Pastor hoping to give him a home in the chance he could contribute to their community and avoid being sacrificed.

Idk if the Pastor really knows about the sacrifices?

She shouldn't, she is not a part of the cult.

Plus, cult makes sacrifices what, once a few months? I doubt they would need both Bruce and that kid from Harfest night.

Sauce? Did he say anything else about the ending?

It's from a Kickstarter update comment thread so unless you're a backer you can't see it.

And vaguely? Like you'd have to be more specific what you're looking for in regards to the ending?

Oh, everything and nothing at once. I mean, did he say anything else about the ending? Or was that just one answer to the question somebody asked?

It was in response to a comment someone had asked.

I see. I have a load of questions, most of them wayy too straightforward to expect an answer for (was what happened in mines real? What's Mae's sickness? Why Eide was stalking her? Who is Eide? Whats up with that arm?)
But what makes me wonder even more - are there any sequel/DLC plans? Are devs interested in expanding the universe? Or is this pretty much 'only and whole thing'?

Yeah they are going to avoid answering anything that removes ambiguity about the ending lol

As for the latter half, aside from their commitment to Kickstarter rewards (a supplemental prologue game, animated shorts, etc) they have not announced any official intentions of whether or not there will be a sequel or DLC or even if they plan to make another game in general. They have said that they will likely announce what their plans for the future are sometime this year though.

I really grew attached to those characters and Id hate not to see how their story develops, even if it means waiting another three years. Should they announce a DLC I think I'd take way less time now that they have the developed world and technology to work with... Hoping for the best.
Oh yeah, exept 'any more NITW?' my next question would probably be 'What's up with the cursed/haunted house thing?' It's never really explained or explored later in the game, only thing I recall is Mae in hospital talking about 'the house/home being destroyed/gone'? Does she think about Possum Springs in general?
