Stop onslaught of party invites?

Not unlike the paparazzi, the party invites are a daily hassle for my sims and even saying 'no' doesn't stop the continuous barage. There are parties literally every day and all of my sims are constantly harassed day and night by these party lines. Is there any way to stop them?

And if you send your Sim to all of them (I've tried this), probably 8 out of 10 times the host is not at home and your Sim can't attend anyway.

Between the phone calls, the constant paparazzi, the ridiculous and constant date invitations, the party invites, and the mailbox full, every day, of come-on lettters from other Sims, it's a creepy world they've made.

Anyway, these events are supposed to be less constant (example: about 5 patches ago, they claimed this invite-every-day thing was fixed), and this is a bug, but it's not one that will probably be fixed and worse, I've never found a mod that helps to cope with them, either.

I've tried making enemies and even killing them, nothing gets people to stop bugging you. I'm the most popular serial killer there ever was.

I don't have a problem unless I go for the Charisma tree skills and end up having about 40 friends. You need to remember as well that the invites are based on household as well. So if you have befriended everyone in town on three separate characters then you can expect constant pestering. Perks like attractive don't help either (since attractive itself is like a money money from all the junk you get in the mail to sell).

The mailbox never bothered me, I like having worshippers. But I wish there was a way to kill the phone. I keep clicking to silence the phone but it never seems to stick. Also, going back to what was said earlier about no one showing up for the infinite parties (because apparently the NPC sims can't even take it that much), that's true of dates too. I was trying to have one of my random sims hook up with someone and he got a date request, they never actually showed up. So he just raided the botanical garden and made an evening of it.
