Downloadable content failed.

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition is trying to download DLC and the only message I keep getting is "Download failed".

I've opened firewall by running "DAOriginsConfig" as admin=>Repair=>Add Firewall Exception which I go the message "Firewall exception added successfully"

I've started the "Dragon Age Origins - Content Updater" and have it started
automatic. I've restarted it a few times but doesn't fix the problem. The exe seems to be part of the correct Windows roles for a windows service.

It appears it's trying to download about 20 different DLC, for example it's trying to download "The Wickard Oath" and "Bregan's Bow (Awakening)" but they fail.

However there is one download that is "Downloading...", which is "Band of Fire". However it's been downloading for 2 hours and the progress bar has yet to move.

Anyway, anyone know might be the problem or know where I can find some types of logs to figure what the problem may be?

I already looked in the Windows Event Viewer but there is nothing in t here.

i have the same problem. the current work around is to download the DLCs manually and use the DA Updater to install them manually.

The main DLC don't need downloading as they are part of the Ultimate Edition you download from Steam.

There is however an issue sometimes where Steam doesn't complete the installation properly and run the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe during the first run like it's meant to which adds the installed DLC to the AddIns.xml file so the game knows it's there.

It is located in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist

Run that and it should add them all to the installed list and they will be available in-game.

Then there is the bonus DLC which BioWare made available for free on their site. These always fail to download for whatever reason (they are the ones you listed also) and yes, downloading them manually as stated in the post above is the way to install them.

In order to install them:

• Download all the DLC to a folder on your desktop
  
• Locate daupdater.exe in your game folder.
  Default Steam location is

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dragon age ultimate edition\bin_ship\

• Run daupdater.exe
  
• Click Load DAZIPs and browse to the location where you downloaded your DLC .dazip files.
  
• Install them - you can select them all you don't need to do them one at a time.
  
• Run Dragon Age: Origins and check your DLC - they should all now be listed on the installed DLC list and showing as enabled.

or you can just use your steam key to download everything easily on orgiin. game runs better on that one than steam for me. sorry but its true. also much easier to manually mod dragon age origins ..for me anyways. Never use nexus mod manager on dragon age origins. Skyrim and the like? sure. not DAO though.

GOG version has all the DLC as well. BSN is not needed any more.
