Early Access FAQ - PLEASE READ FIRST!
When will BloodGate be released?
We are planning to have the full release in July/August (approx. 1-2 months of Early Access).

Why Early Access?
We want to use the time to incorporate suggestions and feedback from the community, as well as ensuring the gameplay balancing and stability is optimal. We’ll also be adding new content, platform support and language support during Early Access.

Is this game Free-To-Play or Pay-To-Win?
No - the game is designed as a premium game. No F2P/P2W shenanigans.

How much will it cost?
The Early Access price is US$8.99. The final retail price will be about 50% more than the Early Access price.

Does the game have “Microtransactions”?
No. Definitely not.

What platforms is BloodGate being released on?
We will start with PC for Early Access, and will support Mac shortly afterwards and Linux (hopefully) before final release.

What languages will you support?
Initially just English for the start of Early Access, but we will have Spanish, French, German and Italian support added soon after.

Is there a single player campaign and story?
Yes. The story unfolds as you battle through 100+ dungeons.

Are there uber loot drops?
Definitely. Items and essences (used for crafting) drop in dungeons. Bosses also drop keys that can open a variety of loot chests. Depending on the type of chest, you will have a chance to get anything from an ordinary weapon/armor item, all the way up to a Legendary item (which of course are quite rare).

What about crafting?
Items can be upgraded using crafting (which consumes gold and essences found in dungeons). If you upgrade an item enough, you can also increase its rarity. Spells and skills, which are unlocked as you progress, can also be upgraded this way.

How does Multiplayer work?
There will be both casual and ranked multiplayer arenas. You can challenge friends or go up against other ranked players. There are several different ranked ladders you can climb up - all the way up to “Master” rank, where only the best of the best around the world can survive. In a multiplayer match, you select your top two fighters and can tactically swap between them during a fight (they heal slowly when not fighting).

Can BloodGate be played offline
Sorry, but no. There is a heavy competitive aspect to BloodGate (leagues and tournaments) so we need to run the game on our servers to avoid cheating/hacking. We even need to do it for the PvE campaign, as that is where you get epic loot drops.

Wasn’t BloodGate a mobile game?
Yes it was (briefly) but due to a number of reasons, we felt it would work better as a PC game (the original concept was for a PC game). We have completely reworked the UI, graphics and game mechanics for PC. We have also removed all the F2P crappola and rebalanced the game accordingly. We've also added realtime multiplayer tournaments.

Please feel free to ask questions about the game or us. We’ll answer them directly in the comments and/or update the FAQ with the answers. Thanks!
