How do I do a 720 motion with a keyboard?
I use a WASD setup. It's the only motion that I can't do.

are you asking for the motion? ASDW ASD W+P?
I'm asking if it's possible to pull off. I can never seem to do it.
it should be possible, but at the same time it's easier to do it while jumping or in the middle of an action.
When I play on a console, I do it as a wakeup. Jumping in gives too much away but once I use it as a wakeup, other people are too scared to knock me down.
oh it's definitely possible. I used to play on WASD, i actually preferred it for 720s than my ASD+Spacebar setup. Just takes practice
Okay, I just wanted to make sure that it actually can be done.
I actually learned something cool just now, it might help you to do 720s.

Focus on getting the 4 arrows, left down right and up. Don't focus on the diagonals, that's the advantage we have on keyboard, is that we can hit them individually without having to hit diagonals. Just getting all the 4 inputs of the arrows will register as a 360, so even if you do right, left, down, up + P, this is still a 360 command grab.

So for 720s, I actually just do down left right up x2 + P. I'm trying to practice doing a 720 input during a normal atm, so i came up with down, left, right, s.lp, up, down, left, right, up + PPP. Do the s.lp to up fast enough so that you don't jump.
also maybe tip (depending on your keyboard?)
you can keep one of the direction pressed when doing the 360/720 motion. When I do a 360, I keep A depressed the entire time, and then hit s-d-space in quick succession. This also works for aerial 720s: keep A depressed, and then hit s-d-space-nothing-s-d-space. Makes it much easier (for me). I'm sure a grounded 720 can also be done this way, but I haven't managed it yet ;)

Ah, I thought diagonals mattered with 720s like they do for zig zag and 360 motions. This changes everything.

welcome to SFIV's "input leniency", ALOT of moves have this integrated ;)
dont use wasd with fat fingers. use space asd or so. i have no problems with wasd, i do it since mortal kombat one but the normal keyboard/hitbox players prefer to jump with the thumb button. a 360 would be from -> back to ->, you can shorten it to be a 225° move, you can -> V <- \ stop up right.

A few things-
1) 720 on wakeup shouldn't be your go to always. A good player will knock you down and bait it out all day. Sometimes jumping in isn't terrible especially if you can make a good read.
2) A good shortcut for doing 720s (and 360s) is to start f/6 and go to ub/7. This makes them significantly easier to do and allows you to do them standing still.
3) Some other good ways to sneak 720 ultras without jumping/waking up are inputing the command during a dash or a whiffed normal (or I guess any move really...). Whiffing moves into 720s can be particularly useful on your opponent's wakeup.
4) Not related to 720s at all, but just as an example of the retarded shortcuts in AE try dfx2 j/s/f (doesn't matter which) as Ryu (or any shota (or any character in the game with a DP). If you do it right you'll get a shoryu.
you should macro it dude

playing a fighting game with a keyboard is a MASSIVE handicap. Just use some macros or give in and buy a controller lol.
I disagree that its a massive handicap, you're basically just playing with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version of a HitBox.
No, it's not. I can pull off a DP motion faster on a keyboard than I can with a joystick.
