Balrog trial 19
I have done almost every single trial of the game. the only 1 I am having serious problems with is this one. you have to headbutt and super him, thats all. simple right? It would be, IF HE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UPERCUTTEDS THE PUNCHES LIKE IN THE VIDEOS.
I have tried every trick in the book, charging up back, charging middle back, tried the super with every punch and kick, but he SIMPLY WILL NOT UPPERCUT.
Reading many comments I have noticed others have had this problem, but no1 gives an answer. So tell me, is this trial broken or something? come on u balrog experts, gimme a hand :)

alrighty. I solved it. basically if you mash in the super too fast, even though you hold kick, he will jab the punches. At least thats what happened several times to me. Could be the buttons dont imput the required millesecond timing. Sometimes I hate how finicky capcom are with these things.

what do you even mean with "he won't uppercut"? don't really get the problem you are having. why are you holding kicks? would be nice to hear a better explanation of the issue you are having. but in any case THIS is how you should be doing trial 19:

(assuming you are on the left side) charge down-left, do a headbutt while maintaining back charge (up-left + punch) and then all you have to do is input the super the moment balrog recovers from the headbutt.

Issue is solved, but just to explain myself better here we go: Balrog's super punches the guy several times. If you activate the super with a PUNCH, he will STRAIGHT JAB the punches. If you activate the super with a KICK instead, he will UPPERCUT the punches. For this trial, you have to end the combo with balrog UPPERCUTTING the super, like that he catches the guy falling down from the air with his punches.
The problem was that he was not obbeying (:P) the command to uppercut the super, and insisted on the frikin jabs so the combo did not link (sometimes I think the sf4 chars have a mind of their own...). The solution was to anyway keep using kick to activate the super, just get the usual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ms timing or he would arbitrarily do straight punches regardless.
Perhaps experts can give a better technical explanation to this event, I know I can't.

ok now I understood the problem and the way you are saying this indicates a mistake:

it's NOT important which button you activate the super with. each hit of the super can either be a punch or a "uppercut" depending on whether or not you are holding any of the kick buttons at the moment where balrog will do a hit. so for a example if you hold down LK right before balrog will start hitting the opponent with his super, then an uppercut will come out as the first hit of the super. but if you like you can decide to let go of the LK button and balrog will do punches as the next hits of the super.

I think you didn't understand this correctly, otherwise you wouldn't have this issue as you can only hit airborne characters with the uppercut hits of the super (except for the last hit, which is always the same, regardless of buttons pressed).

by the way, this is also how the U1 of balrog works. you can always decide which hit to do in the middle of the U1.

well, I did not know that

Press kicks, not punches. Its that simple.
