Controller switches players?!

When I'm using my Dual Shock 4 the controller randomly decides to be player 2 instead of player 1 which I started playing with, this might be a limitation of the software you have to use with the DS4 but has anyone else encountered this? It seems to swtich players on the fly, it starts as player 1 then it'll change to player 2 then it'll switch back after a few minutes of being player 2 to being player 1.

I'm having this exact same problem.

I'm also using a DualShock 4 with Inhexster's X-Input wrapper program. Pretty bad transition from GFWL.

You press start when choosing who is the player 1 and player 2, are you meaning that in mid match you change to player 2?

If I'm just playing the game and I press start during the intros, it'll change the player number my controller is, one fight I was playing I just put up with it and played the arcade with player two after having to select the first player, so I beat the first player who I selected on my keyboard then I continued on my way through Arcade mode. This then switched back to Player 2 randomly or not at all and I couldn't even finish one of the fights.

@Troll this was in the game BEFORE the transition, that makes me sad to know that it's STILL IN THE GAME.

Well to hell with this game until this gets resolved if it ever does.

Well, thats just awesome. Capcom knows people play on pads, know that people want to use DualShock 4's on PC, and they can't even take the time to make sure their supported before the GFWL to Steam conversion actually happens?

Company never seizes to amaze... this really sucks.

I did manage to google this with some awkward wording, and people have experienced it with other controllers too, and it was posted on the Capcom forum from about a year or two ago, so Capcom is well aware, they just don't care. I don't think anyone ever had a solution, one person said make sure the control scheme is setup for the controller your using in the game, apparenlty there are 2 or 3 different places in this game with different controller schemes.

I guess the only thing we can do is to make this thread popular.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, this version is now worse than the PS3 version. At least on the PS3 version, I can use my DualShock 4.

Are you using something like DS4Tool? If so, you need to click on "Hide DS4" in that program. Otherwise your computer thinks you have two different controllers.

I haven't had to do this before, but I'll give it a shot, thank you for the advice.

Why are you guys using the DS4 tool for AE? It works without it as long as your controllers are plugged in BEFORE the program is launched

It works without it, but has the same issues. The default inputs are mapped to different locations, and seems to switch between player 1 and player 2.

RIP DualShock 4 for AE PC. : (

You should be able to reassign the buttons in the controller settings. Did they remove the option??? O_O

Tried to reassign the buttons, but it didn't even recognize the square, or triangle buttons.

i have the same problem with xbox 360 pad. randomly switching between 1. and 2. player. also its shows the keyboard buttons from time to time instead of gamepad buttons. pressing start for example sometimes pause, sometimes adding second player. very confusing

I have this issue too. Kind of silly to launch this thing without testing controllers and fight sticks.
