DRM!
Remember (in steam) to go to properties/set launch options, and add "/revoke", then run it before uninstalling, so as not to lose an activation. Would be really nice if that kind of thing was a lot clearer/done automatically...

wish I had known that before uninstalling it on my old computer (which is now broken). I hate drm...

Was going to pickup this game for $1; then saw it had retail DRM.

Time to contact Steam again.

Good to know that, man. Thanks!

Cheers! Be nice if we didn't have to worry about such rubbish...

I was definitely going to purchase the game until I noticed this jackassery.
Piss off with that ♥♥♥♥. If I buy it, I deserve to own it. At least as much as one can "own" digitally distributed goods these days.

Lost all my installations, contacted Securom and they told me to get in touch with the publisher. It's been like a month since I've contacted Capcom, no answer yet. Seems that I'm stuck with a useless game now...

DRM bull...

Yeah, I also tried to contact Capcom about this a while ago. No response. I think they've completely forgotten this game even exists.

Hi everyone, I know that it's taken some time to get this done but the DRM hardware activations limit has been raised from 5 to 20 on this title along with Dark Void, Age of Booty, and FLOCK!. My apologies that we couldn't get this done for the Steam sale, but sometimes these things take a little time. The instructions at the top of this thread should still be used, but hopefully this raised limit makes it a little bit easier to simply enjoy the game.

Will the DRM ever actually be removed? What purpose does it serve, at this point, when virtually everyone who would ever pirate the game has already done so? For pete's sake, this is a $5 game that is now almost 4 years old.

Also, it's good to know that Dark Void has DRM, as I now can mark that one off my list as a game I will never buy. Very convenient that the game's DRM is not mentioned anywhere on the store page, even after all this time.

This actually feels worse than just leaving the DRM as-was. "Yes, we are aware our games have this restrictive DRM on a client-requisite distributor. No, we will not remove it, but rather make it slightly less immediately restrictive."

Count me among those who will still hold out on this release. Even the PSN versions I have (AoG and FLOCK, namely) are less of a hold-out than this. Even after Sony changed the number of active home consoles per account down to two, that's still double the active systems for Steam accounts, and there is yet more restriction on the latter? I don't know if there's hang-ups on this (identical DRM for all distributors?), but for Steam, this is bad sense.

Why not 50? Even EA raised Cryisis and Warhad limit from 5 to 50.

So, I take it the recalibrated DRM is still in place for this Capcom 30th Anniversary sale? Yet, it's still not detailed in the least on its Store page.

How about finally removing this silly DRM instead of giving trouble to your customers? I'll gladly buy this game and Age of Booty when you do that.

Was going to buy this game until I saw this. Thanks OP.
Steam is already a piece of DRM, so why add another layer?
Especially for a game going for the retro style. People who love retro games would like the idea of picking something up years later and still enjoy it. This piece of DRM seems to alienate the players it targets...

Ehhh, no, thank you.

I don't really feel to support DRM with activation limits anymore.
