Can't invite friend or join friend session error

whenever i invite a friend or a friend invite me we get this 'session is no longer available error' .. anyone had that?

Having this issue too and haven't found any solution

that was in the old dirt 3 that used 'games for windows live' now they have the new dirt 3 complete edition it uses steam servers I guess, havent tried it yet. But this issue was port issues being both on nat strict you need to either open the ports or use a vpn. 1 at least should have nat open
