Xbox One controller not compatible
I just got an Xbox One controller today, and I absolutely love the feel of it compared to the Xbox 360 controller. I installed the official 64-bit drivers from Microsoft and the controller is detected fine in Windows

Dirt 3 however fails to properly detect the controller. I can load the game, press A a couple times to skip the intro movies and select the profile I want to use, but from then on the controller is not usable. I've tried setting up a race with the keyboard to see if driving worked, but it doesn't

I wasn't really expecting it to work out of the box on an older game like this, but this is just to let other people know that in it's current state, it's not usable.

I've noticed my XB1 controller does not work with Split Second either, although my 360 one works great. Skyrim also has issues with the sticks on the XB1 pad... So thats 2 more game on the list.. :tgrin:

I've been using a wired Xbox 360 controller for years, so I have no doubt that works. I just wanted to check if the Xbox One controller worked, because I've heard that it should work just like the 360 controller, but alas there is still compatability issues. The Xbox One controller can't be used wirelessly on the PC yet anyway, has to be connected with the USB cable

You have the wireless adapter?

There is no wireless adapter for the Xbox One controller on PC. The Xbox 360 controller I have is wired and it works fine, but I'm talking about the Xbox One controller

GOOD NEW EVERYONE!

Turns out that the controller does work just like the Xbox 360 controller. The problem was that I had both plugged in at the same time, I suppose that was causing some sort of conflict. When I unplugged the 360 controller the Xbox One controller works flawlessly

One quick edit after a bit of playing: Sometimes the vibration will keep going when it's not supposed to, like the pause screen and the menus. Quick fix is just unplug the controller and plug it back in, maybe the devs can patch this easy when the roll out the Steamworks patch

The xbox one contoller is compatible in dirt 3 only you need the driver of Major Nelson Xbox Live here the link http://majornelson.com/214/06/05/pc-driver-for-the-xbox-one-controller-available-now/ and install the driver for windows X86 or windows X64 and only is install and play but I recomend watch in YOUTUBE first. I had the same problem, try going to options>controls>choose preset> keyboard. then restarting the game. After that i could use my controller and keyboard.

The Xbox One controller was recognized for me after going to options > controls > choose preset > controller. I didn't have to reset the game.

Enabling XBox Controller support in big picture mode sorta got the game to recognize the controller. Before the Controller preset wasnt even availible while i had it connected via Bluetooth. However most of the buttons were not accurate. When i tried to connect via USB it worked perfectly though. Seems to be Bluetooth driver issue on Win 8.1. Have to check that on Win 10 with this game as well and also i dont know about the XBOX ONE Receiver. Anyone?
