I just got Scorch Shot for the first time since I was F2P, might be my new favorite weapon.

I set like hundreds of people on fire without w'ing incessantly. The only catch is I didn't get any kills. I was playing on Star's East Coast and it was just totally fun to use the scorch shot on PL_Upward, and some other more <cough> Obscure maps... Anyway, I got dominated 4 times, but I know I was creating positive pressure for my team so I didn't stop. Fired an explosive flare at every corner, at every doorway, and I lit every sniper and medic on fire that I could. It was really fun. I just didn't kill many people. I think that, like the Sharpened Volcano Fragment, the fact that it sets the target on fire is sort of redundant. It is a miracle of crowd control and splash damage, but when I get up close I feel like my flamethrower just doesn't cut it.

Someone in the match suggested that the Scorch Shot needs a knockback buff, idk, I feel biased. A knockback buff would make it great for me, but I almost feel like letting the pyro use the shotgun as a primary would be the best solution. Of course... that's crazyeeeeee... :?

It's fine as it is.

It isn't meant to be a primary weapon, it's a weapon to use while you're running to the front lines.

it is pretty funy though.

I like using pyros secondary stuff as fireworks.

Shoot em in the sky when you win a round.

I've found it to be a must for MvM. People whine about it being a crap weapon, but if you use it well it's as good as a Falre Gun. I put the upgrade cash I used to put into Burn Time into this instead up front, and it's a nice added burst of damage to a small group. It also has a nice knockback for the bomb carriers.

Scorch Shot is my favorite secondary weapon. The knockback was my favorite part about it. pushing people off cliffs, scaring snipers, and is a really good spycheck weapon.It has been in my loadout eversince I first got it.

[The Wild West Pyro]

It's a brilliant flare gun- a multi purpose gun, and the knockback is awesome: Sending people into sawblades, trains, pits, or off cliffs, messing up snipers aims, and crowd control. It's also good in MVM too- knocked a Robot Scout into a Coal Town pitfall once. The only thing it needs is just to reduce the damage buff.

I agree with the necromancer that the new buff was exactly what I wanted.

Having said that, pyro is broken as ♥♥♥♥, best direct assault class, can easily deal with any other class and can even take on up to 3 enemies handily.
