black screen + shuts off tf2

well its bin about 2 weeks and every so often my tf2 bugs out it shows a blackscreen and 2 sec after that it closes tf2 I need help

yeah I have been having problems with the game randomly crashing. I cant play for 3 hrs straight and it wont happen. Sometimes tho it will happen 2-3 times per session.
I have windows 8 on an SSD drive and have heard that it is still not perfected to be on that sort of drive and they reccomend doing a firmware update on the drive.

but...If you go under advanced options in tf2 and disable html MOTD that seems to help the best. The downfall is where you have to stare at a screen that makes you wait 20 secs before joining

What about updating your video card? I know that sounds standard but since its a graphical issue

ok idk how to scince mine dosent have the tower its all built in

just have steam open and on the top left click on steam. Then you will see an option to udate video card. try it that way

If that (video driver updates et al) doesn't resolve anything, it might be worth your time figuring out how to get the CPU and GPU temperatures and find out if your box is overheating. Disabling any overclocking would also be a good step.

yeah my wife has an all in one sony. It wont let me update the drivers at all. It says theres updates but they dont apply. I found out that most all in one comps have the graphics card soldered onto the motherboard, so it is not impossible, but very hard to change em out
