Team Fortress 2
Maybe that Tux isn't worth the hassle...
Here's what I had to do to get that Tux:
1. Downloaded the ISO for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
2. Burned that ISO onto my flash drive
3. Shrunk my C drive 50 GB to make room for Linux/TF2
4. Reset my PC, booted Ubuntu installer from my flash drive
5. Ran through installer, manually partitioned Ubuntu with that 50 GB of empty space
6. Waited for Ubuntu to finish installing and boot up.
-Ubuntu launches in ttyl mode. ♥♥♥♥ me
6.5 Spend hours trying to get Ubuntu to boot with a GUI, finally get it to work
7. Find and download steam...
-Steam has a compatability error... ♥♥♥♥
7.5 Manually update linux for another hour using the Terminal
8. Finally update and get Steam working
9. Install TF2 and Nvidia patch Steam recommends
10. Launch TF2 an hour later
PROFIT AT LAST!

Imo, that was a little much for a penguin you wear on your ass like the Power-Up Canteens >_>

That's just too much darn trouble to get an item I do not desire, and I really have to wonder about you too.
How do i fix the "this game is currently unaviable...." i mean , im getting tired any advice from a pro like you?
Welcome to dependency hell.
But really, what were Valve thinking, making people do things they don't even know shmitt about?

You mostly get that from Steam being a tool. I usually restart Steam or try again at a later time.
No it probably isn't worth all that hassle, unless you actually use Ubuntu. There are a few of us around that do :D

This was my 2nd time trying to do this. The 1st time I ended up completely erasing Windows 7 from my system.
Hence why I had to partition it myself. Apparently Ubuntu does not recognize Win 7 on Alienware PC's as something it can install alongside.

Ubuntu in a nutshell.

Any time I've installed Ubuntu, I've found the "install alongside" thing doesn't work very well, even when trying to install it alongside another Ubuntu installation.

My biggest issue with it now is how screwed up my sound is. >_> X51's have this Realtek driver in them that makes it so in order to hear any legitimate sound, you need to have that driver.
And I'm pretty sure Dell isn't a big advocate of Linux, neither is Realtek in my experience.

Funny enough, Ubuntu found my first screwed up installation and asked me if I wanted to install alongside that XD
I am just waiting to get on TF2 but I always get This game is currently unaviable.... I like Linux in some ways but after all this pain and once I have some TF2 linux fun, I'll be done...
I think the Tux item should only be wearable if you're actually USING linux.

...Damn skiddies

Hence how most people got buds by running Mac OSX in a Virtual Machine, rather than on an actual Mac. Cheaters.
It only took you 1 hour...

It took me 4 days D:
I'm having issues with it in Linux as well. It works on my roommate's account, but not mine. Then my windows version gets all grumpy and jealous. :/
