A possible rework for the Soda Popper to make it less crutchy(plus added bonus buff for the Winger).
Make it charge as you do damage rather than as you run (but only damage done with the Popper itself) and then you right click when the meter is full to unleash minicrits.
Also, the Winger should crit wherever it would normally mini-crit so people actually have a reason to use it with the Popper.

IMO, Scout is a relatively easy class to get kills with. But performing well by dodging hazards AND getting kills is a different story, though, and most people can't do that.

I'm all for this, so long as the mini crit time on the Soda popper is decreased drastically, otherwise EVERYONE will be using the Winger and Soda Popper, and the Soda Popper is already spammed enough.

How long do you think it should be decreased to? 7 seconds?

Stock weapons are balanced by nature. Soda Popper gives you mini-crits just for running around, which you can easily do in a safe area.

Well, the current distance to charge up the mini-crits is 5200 H units, with the crits lasting 8 seconds, so how about 6000 H units and 6.5 seconds? Just enough of a nerf to make it useful, but not useless.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense. Sad this is just hopes and dreams, though.

I like this idea, it rewards you with crits for doing damage instead of running around in a circle
