I got tired of playing a while back and gave / traded all my items away except for a select few that were precious to me. Now its time to get back in the game and see how I do! Wish me luck!

Nah, I mean playing the game for real. But starting from (almost) scratch, stock weapons, no hats etc.

Why would you give your items away? You should have traded them for like keys or genuines, then sold them on the market so you can get money to buy another game if you wanted one.
That's how I would have doe it if I wanted to restart TF2.
