Best example is Medic.
Newbs (not noobs) go medic because they hear the common advice to go medic to learn the game. Yet they either drop their uber (not bad, they'll learn) or they don't heal, because they are afraid to overload the Medigun. (Yes, that's a thing).
A simple, 3 minute tutorial would be nice.
Or, other solution. Create a badge that you get for completing the tutorial. That way, because everybody wants misc's, they'll play it. (lol, jk)
No, no, I heard that several times now. People sometimes think that as a Medic they can only heal until the Ubercharge-Meter hits 100%. So they avoid overhealing.
Yup. Certain people expect every newbie to read a guide or ten before they get into the game. It kind of reminds me of a certain person...
Oh, right. The author of this guide. The fact that his profile is private and there's several thousands of other guides on Steam does not help in the slightest.
The guide might not be bad, but half of it is riddled with links to the wiki, and knowing the kind of person the author is, I would never want him as my teacher.
