My friend has done 2 TOURS and found an australium rocket launcher - i have done 39 and not a single pro fabricator/australium

That's just how it works. Everyone that doesn't even know what refined is gets an Australium early on, that's in the TF2 rulebook.

I found one on Tour #4 and Tour #5. Two in a row. Sold them both for 32 keys total, as they weren't the default ones that sell for a lot. I'm working on #6 now, so hoping for a third.

I toured with a guy who got an Austrlium Wrench. (The one I wanted) He then complained about how it wasn't an Australium Rocket Launcher.

its disgusting i have payed like 40 pounds and zilch he probably spends 4 pounds and gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 80 pounds weps. all will see - these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ australiums will be lowered to like 11 keys, fabs down to ref pros into like 3 keys.... all will be changed

Last time I checked, which was back in April-June of 2013, I sunk around $200 USD into steam games as a whole (however, I was working at the time). Probably more now, around $250 I'm guessing (I didn't play for like, 4 months)?

People spend way more on steam than they care to admit i have found...it's kinda like asking an admin or a mod if he gets paid....it's like they either feel like they have to lie or they say nothing...

Well, I haven't checked since the time period I provided, and I stopped playing for awhile. But why would people hide it? If they have the extra funds, as well as the time, why not spend money on something that makes them happy?

I think you confused Valve with EA for a second.

Team Fortress 2 is Valve's way of legal gambling if you think about it. You hear these stories of new players unboxing unusuals on their first unbox and getting Australiums on their first tour. Once they get those items they can only go 2 ways. Stop and claim your loot and live happy, or try your luck again for more riches. Once you win you want to keep on wining. And once word gets out that a new player gets one of these items premiums will figure "Oh hey if he can get one I can get one" and then the cycle continues with premiums spending their money to try their luck with items and most of the time they end up with nothing and being pissed off. At the end of the day Valve makes off with your money and you go back and gamble the next day.

Congrats. I sold both of mine, bought my first unusual, but decided I liked my primary Scout cosmetics, so sold it for a bud, and bought some misc stuff with the leftovers. So now I just have the bud and other crap I like :3
