Chargin' Targe

The Chargin' Targe is pretty OP.

+50% fire damage resistance on wearer
+40% explosive damage resistance on wearer
Immune to the effects of afterburn
Alt-Fire: Gain increased attack power by charging towards your enemies.

This completely ruins pyros.

Fire damage resistance makes your flamethrower practically useless.
Flamethrower damages
W+m1'ing isn't going to save you, if you are lucky and airblast him back that is going to help for a few seconds at most.

Immune to afterburn makes flare gun and axtinguisher useless.
Even with the degreaser and reserve shooters weapons switch combined ct demos don't stay on fire long enough to get the crit. W+m1'ing Isn't going to work; degreaser has the damage penalty, and the demo can still charge you and kill you instantly with a melee crit from charging. Flare gun does 30 damage assuming you hit them, not going to help you. Axtinguisher does 33 damage a hit because of the damage penalty, not going to help.

"Use stock shotty scrub"
Shotgun damages
Shotty only does 80-90 damage a shot at point blank and the damage falls off pretty quickly. Demo charges you and instantly kills you with a melee crit from charging.

"Use melee scrub"
Melee damages
Scouts default melee does 35 damage a hit, attack interval of .5 seconds with a crit of 105. All other default melee weapons do 65 a hit with .8 second intervals with 195 crit damage.
A. You are not going to be able to melee fight a demo unless you are demo or they are really bad.
B. Unless you get a crit, most of demos melee weps do tons of damage, combine that with the crit from the charge, you are going to get instantly killed most of the time.

TL;DR: Chargin' Targe is OP towards pyro, Demo is OP.

i actually use it. it is quite nice to ignite someone. push them into a corner, then just flaregun them. unless its a heavy (why would you fight a heavy as a pyro unless you had a backburner?) they are on low enough health to either die from afterburn, or they get powerjacked and you get a nice buff!

It's good in certain situations, the damage vulnerability is the main reason I don't like it.

It's good in certain situations, the damage vulnerability is the main reason I don't like it.

i never noticed it. i only use it for combo running away or getting into the fray. but i dont charge into combat with it expecting to get an overcharge instantly
