Friendly Fire Rant.
(Please read it all)

This is something i have been thinking about lately to try and stop spychecking and make spy a much more fun class to play.

Spy imo is pretty underrated because of the people spychecking constantly. it has gotten to me that nearly every pyro and soldier i come across is spychecking everyone.

I think this should be changed so people that play SPY can enjoy it much more and make a little more risky to shoot teammates..

What do you guys think about it? :)

There should be community servers with friendly fire.

It'd be impossible to spy check unless you saw them disguise and could make for some really annoying strategies from across teams

Friendly-fire is explicitly disabled to prevent griefing as much as possible.

But trolls exist

Friendly fire would be terrible due to griefing, but even ignoring that, it would be terrible for the soldier and demoman, since their spamming capabilities will be ruined significantly.

I see where you're coming from, but a good spy knows how to get around spychecking. Don't just walk up to people out of nowhere. Also, there are a few problems with friendly fire. One is that explosive classes would be massively shafted, and to a lesser extend, Heavies and Pyros, since they all run the risk of catching a teamate in their various sprays of damage. Second, salty people, kids, and "trolls" would be able to just kill anyone on their team, which is a horrible situation. Lastly, taking away the ability to check for a Spy just to make someone that doesn't know how to act around the enemy happy isn't fair to the other 8 classes.
Spy also isn't "underrated"; it's probably the 2nd most-picked class by F2P's, and an obvious asset to the team if played correctly.

With the missile barrage of weapons like Beggars Bazooka and Pyros Flamethrower being basically a stream of damage I doubt outside community servers that allow it that youll ever get friendly fire in the game normally.

And the above arent even for the troll factor as its likely theyll hit or kill allies just out of sheer accidents when not even spy checking too.

i can't think of a single FPS where friendly fire would cause more problems than it would in TF2

the game is literally built around spam pressure, wide cones of fire, and explosives

I'm guessing you got dominated a few hundred times as Spy today.

This is supported by the fact that you only have 28 hours in TF2. You have no right to suggest changes.

28 hours and all achievements (legit)

Spy is not an underrated class, since you only have 28 hours you have no knowledge.
If friendly fire were to be added, it'd be like CS:GO, everyone team killing.
Spy checking isn;t a problem, and thats why you LEARN, learn to play spy.

He has a right, but his credibility isn't great. He might just be using an alt, but I doubt it since he's complaining about something required for regular gameplay.
Upon closer inspection of his profile, it appears he has a VAC ban on record, which just shatters any credibility he has.
