The Clock is Ticking
How much more will TF2 take before it ends?

Bad updates, community becoming too toxic, unnecessary rivalries with other games and the undecided fate of this game are all big problems.
I don't expect a solution for them on this thread, only an idea of when you people - the community - think that TF2 is gonna end.

In a decade, give or take a few years.

Do you think all of us say tf2 is gonna die?

Not all the time, but at least you all gotta have an idea of when.

If we try to adjust, improve and fix past issue's, we can manage.

Bulk is right. We won't die.

there is no "we", it's on valve to give the game life.

Well, there's a chance it will if there are:
-Bandwagons saying tf2 is dead
-People who are quite pesimistic towards the game
-Players who cheat in game to ruin the experince
-And most of all the toxic community

Add all this and you got yourself a slowly diminishing player base.

When I say we, I mean the community.

There are 2 scenarios in TF2's future at the moment. The Pyro Update being central. If it delivers on its promises and fixes the matchmaking and Pyro class it'll stay strong indefinitely.

Buuuuuuut.... if it undelivers or broken on release (doesn't matter if it's patched in the next few weeks since Valve wouldn't have learned their lesson) it'll be the last straw for many players.

TF2's playercount will take a noticable dive, but not as severe as some would think. While the game won't die itself many of the older players will lose patience and move on permanently. It'll become a true shell of its former self.

The tf2 community has made updates, and are making new one's too. They work for hours, and valve just needs to put some tweeks, add it in the system, and then bring it into the game for a killjoy.

The Frontline, and Mayann project are two most known made by the community, and valve has to just make the pyro update for another wave of hate.

We as a community bring an impact, we as a community can change the game forever.

We can change it positively or negatively

You got bad updates right. The community isn't becoming too toxic. It already is too toxic. Also there aren't any real "rivalries" with other games. Just imaginary ones.

the community can make new maps and cosmetics. valve has to make the balance changes, they wont leave it up to pubbers and right now balance changes is what the game needs most. pyro and heavy are incredibly unfun to play against.

We as a community have toxicity, we just think it's about us. Pro's, high skill, etc.

If new people join, we can help them by teaching what we learned.

Many who hate others will depend on what they do or what they have an opinion on, but we must know whay we can control, and we must know what to find arguable.
