Memory leak and constant crash on loading save and when going in Fort Joy central area

Basically, I can't go in Fort Joy central area without the game eating all my memory, freezing and then crashing. Plus, when I start the game, the first save load takes forever, and the next crash the game no matter what. It seems there're quite a lot of people having this issue, please help ^^

Specs: windows 10, 8gb ram, I5 4570s, ati rx480, gog version of the game.

Running into this as well, my game doesn't crash unless I load a save. It will freeze and stutter like crazy though.

Win 7 16gb ram I7 4790k gtx 980 steam version

same here, Fort Joy Ghetto area freeze my pc to death, takes all memory i have (16gb) - Win 7, Gforce 1060... - first freeze took like 20-30 sec, now while i progress it takes even 5 min.

whats interesting first tiem i entered this area, got no crush, but while after i ghatered all party (3 companions and me) i got this freezes

I am encountering the same issue, in Fort Joy Central as well as a few underground areas. Just hangs often and sometimes the saves can't even load. Often starts using 4gb of RAM and just not loading anything.

Specs: i7-6700k, GTX1080, 32gb DDR4 Win10.

Funny thing is the game worked perfectly until I got to the prison. Before I made everything on the market and beach. But now, crash crash crash and every quickload also crash.

I just posted this, didn't realize others had the same issue! I have a GTX 1060 and had to do a hard reset because the sound started doing that awful hiccup

Same, seems to be triggered by stealing from an npc while someone else is talking to them.

I didn't steal anything from anyone. The only common thing I could gather from any of us with this issue is that the save files keep getting bigger and bigger for a yet unknown reason until game crashes on loading. The crash on fort joy center seems to be related, though I fail to see why or how.

Yes I am also having this issue. I wonder if it happens to people who are playing tacticians mode or something. Regardless, it's pretty damn major, and incredible frustrating, but can't do much more than wait for larian to respond, or patch, which might take a while. So get comfy I guess.

Exact same issue - my bugged save files are all over 7/8 MB..although i dont really see why +2/3 MBs in a save file would cause such an error. This is incredibly frustrating as my game now takes upwards of 5 minutes to load a save file, and it will crash if I reload a quicksave while playing now (i have to close the game completely to reload, and wait 5 minutes again...)

Some people said they had better luck once they left Fort Joy so I'm gonna try that later
