Bored after first 10 minutes
Not sure how they managed this, but i got very bored from interacting with all this pale npcs with their petty concerns. There needs to be some epic start, something to pull you into the story, reason to care about your character.

Give it time. The game starts to get way more interesting the more you get involved in it.

Sleep on it for a day and it will get better once you memorize the setting.

You could always just randomly kill everyone

*Assure them you are innocent*, *Tell him you don't know* - could'n they bothered to write an actual reply lines? This certainly does not help getting into the game.

Previous installment, you had a clear goal and backstory right from the start, a source hunter going in to investigate murder, contact point to reach - all clear and dandy. Here, you are some bum on the shore with no specific goals, picking up shells ffs? Bleh.

They've stated in interviews that they are looking at redoing the intro section of the game.

It does seem like the game still needs some work, I was going to participate in the Alpha but I honestly don't have time to critique a game and submit bug reports. How long do you guys think it will be untill it is solid and out of alpha?

Are you reading anything? You were captured as someone with source in their system,--since having source is now a terrible thing in this world b/c of voidwalkers--they put a collar on you to block your powers, and they shipped you off to fort joy to rot? be protected? who knows?

On the way there your ship got attacked by voidwalkers and sunk, but you were lucky enough to drift to shore. Your job then is to figure out how to remove the collar and escape the island; a pretty difficult task. This premise is way more interesting to me than a simple murder investigation.

Escape and do what friend? Bake cakes? Watch credits roll?
Escape is a goal so vague, that i esacped by pressing Alt+F4

Regain your freedom? Find a way back home? Join the other source beings and revolt?

The game is in EA ffs, you can't expect to have the entire plot and goals laid out for you in the beginning.

DOS: 1 was just as vague. Solve the murder mystery and then what? Go back home b/c your taks is complete? It took twist and turns after you solved the mystery, not before. Likewise in this game you're expected to find a way to escape and then figure out what to do afterwards.

God you're such a troll.

A quick glance at the games this one plays and where he's located should clear up most of the confusion, at least about who you're wasting time trying to enlighten.

As far as the boring piece goes, the 1st one didn't exactly just take off with a bullet, so if OP has any familiarity with it he'd know this.

What's that supposed to mean?
Are you one of those faschist Americans who think the world belongs to them?

That is what description says dude, 20 minutes creating charaacter, then 10 minutes of play time and I got bored.
There is something very wrong with this game, this is not normal for me to get bored with rpg so fast.
