I started this game 3 times, watched a few videos and read a few guides. This game is a complete grind. Everything from making a fire to bow & arrows is horrible. I won't mention the antidote that requires a ton of ingredients.

You spawn and then run around collecting fibres from plants, chopping trees and avoiding animals because they'll kill you almost instantly. You need a lot of stuff just to do the basics. A bow requires 66 fibre and 5 lumps of wood (2 trees) a fire starter (every time you light a fire) needs 2 wood, 15 fibre and 12 medical plants. Arrows need nails and feathers that you can't get without a loot box that for some, strange reason are scattered around the place.

Adding that to the lack of food options and the need to create a bow & arrow first you're almost dead before you get there. Then you eat the meat and you need to do it all again very soon.

I haven't got as far as the hunters but they'll attack you as well. I have to presume that once you're set up the food problem will disappear but it will still be a grind.

I played too long to get a refund so I may just play, build a bit, store my gear in a box, die, rinse and repeat until this is fun. I hate needing to die to progress.

Honestly - don't alpha if your not ready. Not a 3rd person. No combat mechanics. Bullets don't kill. Unable to start a game, can't even gather for basic objectives. Need to be able to do this or why bother when ten dollars can buy FO4. Need to be able to at least enjoy basic survival before a death. Thanks for inspiring me to buy FO3 and NV. Up until now I avoided these because they look like ♥♥♥♥ to play. But after playing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.....
