STALKER pack 24$ stolen from me by Steam
This is garbage, it shouldn't be for sale on Steam, it simply just doesn't work.. freeze etc..
Who wants to buy a game load it and then have it not work.. google the issue only to find it is a common problem and will take hours/days of hunting through ancient patches and links .. ??

Not me.. I'd like to come to an online shop pay money for games that work or be warned tht it has serious glitches


Steam pay people back their money and start with me!

worked for me.... still do you have a good enough PC to run it? it may look like a 2003 game but its VERY taxing

Can you describe the problem you're having specifically? Freezing in-game is most often an out-of-memory problem and can usually be fixed with a large address aware patch. Yes CoP has some known bugs but most of them have workarounds, you can't say the same for a lot of other games out there.

yes thanks, got a top puter..i7 2600k 3.40 - 16 gigs mem my vid card is 6900 AMD ..

Cylentnye .. It seems to be the same problem others are decribing all over... it freezes either just staying frozen perm or flashign a black screen and back into game.. also takes a very long time to load as many describe too..It's unuseable

There should be warnings on glitchy games.. I'd NEVER buy one.. I don't get into the challenge of trying to fix .. for me it is frustrating and depressing.. I feel as if I have been ripped off.. well I have .. just pissed off a weekend gaming is gone

I appreciate the people who post to forums to help.. it's dead kind... and I mean no bad rant o you lot.. it's steam for selling it when so many have this known issue with it that I'm ranting at

Are you sure it's fully patched? I've never had any problem with any of the STALKER games

My pc is older then yours and it runs the games just fine. can you get to the start menu of the game or does it crash at start up? If you can see the menu screen go to options and make sure it up to date on the patch and modify the graphic options abit if its at max or high try putting it at medium to see if it works. have you tried verifying the intergity of the game by opening the properties in the steam library?

another question what OS are you running, If your running win8 try disabling the steam overlay.

I've also heard that too much RAM can cause the game to work inefficiently and hence cause trouble. These games, especially Clear Sky though, are not optimised well for modern systems.

Sorry was away from desk for a while. thank you for the thoughts.. I do have lot of ram and am on win 7.. I don't know how to patch it ot where.. i look adn see so many different leads and downloads on how & were.. I will try and swap it with someone who knows how to patch and re configure their puter enough .. I just wnt stuff that goes with no stres

Works fine on my desktop, but is a little wonky on my laptop, but Im not complaining.

If it doesnt work on your comp, you just need a better rig man. Ive played it a few times over. And it has never crashed or freezed or whatever on me. Also, with the mod Misery which makes the game even more slick, that mod alone requires that you have a dam good rig in order to play it on full setteings

It is possible that active videocard while playing is integrated Intel, not Radeon 6900. Please check it

I have an integrated graphics card as well on my Motherboard but I disabled that and use a dedicated card for everything.
How can you check what card the game itself uses ?
I know how to check while not in game. My main card is activated while the game is not playing so wouldn't that mean that the game would use that ?

Why do people always assume that bombastic terminology immediately gives their greivance significance?

I swear it's the most bass ackwards logic I've ever encountered yet people actually believe it.

@OP, given the fact that you aren't actually asking for help and are in fact just venting, I see no reason to attempt to offer assistance.

Just know that your argument holds less water than a sieve.
