Yes it will conflict.

You have to pick 1 and only 1.

alright then

You'll probably still have to do a complete uninstall of CoP first because Complete will mess some things up if you just uninstall it and try to install Misery 2.1. Make sure you delete any remnants of CoP from you PublicDocs folder as well.

This is interesting. FWIW I had Complete installed and just installed Misery on top of it without a thought. Been having a great time playing Misery since then...

That would be great to install misery without uninstalling complete, as im not entirely sure how much ill like misery.

semi-on-topic

I haven't played COP (but I have played through SOC vanilla), what are the pros/cons of complete vs misery. What should I go with and why

Complete is old, outdated, and not at all what it should have been. MISERY is new and.. That's about all I got. The poor balance drove me nuts.

So I've got old and outdated vs new and unbalanced... should I keep it vanilla? xD

doing some reading online.. sounds like Misery 2.1 fixes a lot of balance issues with 2.0

You can use I Work Alone. It's what MISERY started as.

Let me put it this way. Misery has a great idea but sort of turns it on it's head. It ends up turning the player into a psuedo-bandit just to survive the world. It's possible to only be a goody goody two shoes however you're going to be using ♥♥♥♥♥ equipment and even worse armor for a larger portion of the game than others. The balance is absolutely abhorrant and mutants have a really bad tendency to have more hp and move faster than they are actually supposed to. Snorks in particular.....♥♥♥♥ snorks.....seriously....♥♥♥♥....Snorks.

A lot of Misery's problems could be balanced simply by re adding the difficulty option. The fact is not everyone feels like dropping four hours into a sitting just because the devs felt like barking up the " Master or NOTHING " tree.

My main problem with the mod is the accuracy the npcs have. I had a bandit fling a grenade across the map directly into my face and kill me. They are a bit too accurate.

That shouldn't even work. Complete comes with an old version of Atmosfear and Absolute Texture packs. Misery uses the new ones. It would conflict greatly. Doesn't even stand to reason it should work concerning the Absolute texture packs alter terrain geometry now.

Actually, we're planning on including a new game mode called "Rookie". It will be specifically intended for those who have problems with the balance of things in Misery.

PsychoMantis:
The point is: we like the balance as it is right now so we have no reason to change it substantially. If it isn't exactly up your alley you're most welcome to edit the appropriate files yourself to make the mod suit your preferences to a larger degree. However, this aforementioned mode will most certainly make the process much easier.

We've been over this with each other trikster, I know you can modify the game. I get it.....seriously.....but how many of your other users are like me and are willing " and able " to go and do such a thing? Also, I would hope you are taking into consideration that " uber easy " is just as bad as " ultra badass " It's better to find a happy medium than to go polar opposite. My opinion of course, but given that I've done my best to balance all manor of games that I play with friends, it sort of proves a point when most of them want a good balance rather than something being too easy or ball bustingly hard. Also, please don't take this message as hostility, I promise it wasn't written that way ^_^

I for one enjoy Misery except for the artifacts and the fact that if NPC's get to gear before the player they will quite literally despawn it most of the time. I fixed the artifacts, however I'm still digging to figure out the gear despawning when NPC's loot a stalker's body.
