I mean I love the yellow (kill bill reference?) spandex, but I wouldn't mind swapping wardrobe occasionly *giggle*
We actually have an upgrade system planned out, you would upgrade your droids and buildings by moving skill points between them. So take away skill points from a Hammie's HP and place it into a Odee's damage, for example. The idea was to make energy cost, or monetary cost increase the more loaded with skill points a droid was. So you can make them uber powerful but they would cost more to use (or you could go the opposite and reduce skill points on barracks and droids so that you could have an infinite army of weaklings to swarm and zerg).
Would this system be of interest? Or is it too complex?
Obviously we never got around to making the patch. If we can build some interest we would no doubt return to the original milestones and get those patches done. Patches included skirmish mode, upgrades and multiplayer (which would have aimed to be like Spy vs Spy).
Thank you for your feedback.
You nailed it, it's a Kill Bill / Running Man reference. As we knew the option to swap outfits would be outside of our available budget what we did instead was allow all sprites be customised.
So if you head to the \Steam\steamapps\common\DeathByGameShow\Death by GameShow_Data\StreamingAssets folder you'll see custom text and custom sprites folders. Go into Custom Sprites, Copy the Template folder, rename the folder and tweak whats inside. Then you can load that folder up in game (custom graphics menu option). So that means you can personalise the game however you like.
When the game first released we tried to push the customisation options by offering monetary prizes for the best. Yet only 1 person ever submitted anything. Which knocked the wind out of our sails.
I know it's not the same as having outfits pre-made, but this was how we intended to add new outfits, for the player, the droids and the buildings over time. Via the workshop.
It's something we would still love to do but we're in limbo with marketing. Actually, we suck at marketing, so we expect to be in limbo a while as we figure (or hope to) it out.
That system sounds awesome, I like that idea, make it happen already! Do it! Now! We need it :D
It does not sound too complex and if you have a good tutorial on how to use it, it would allow everyone even most casual players to enjoy the system, I believe :)
At somewhat-related news, I am going to stream your game again later this week, hopefully this time beating level 9-3 without dieing more than 30 times in a row :D
Sorry to hear about your struggles on 9-3. Here's a YouTube video showing a version 1.0 build being completed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80wL6QqdnCY
Hopefully you can find a way through it without getting too frustrated.
As for adding the skill point system, we can't for a while. We need to figure out marketing and price point, once we learn how to do that we will return to adding features.
We did try to make t-shirts for the game too, they are kind of rude so you may want to avoid them hehe. We did plan on using these as part of a KS or IndieGoGo campaign reward.

I never were frustrated with the level, I just died a lot :D
I died purely due to a lack in my abilities and my lacking skills in adapting a new strategy for the level. Also I should probably start utilizing the strategy mode and start building buildings as well, hahaha :)
But yeah, I am going to stream your game once a week until the end of December :)
I know it's my own fault when it fells down for wearing it out like crazy, but god when it drops down, it's a horrible and I just want to beat it up :') <3
I literally thought the same thing when Tchii mentioned this frustration to me the other day.
If we improve awareness we'll do something fun for those who spam down their locker.
I'm thinking that while it's down the hook becomes the boxing glove (auto) and the player has to beat the locker back to life. There can be pros and cons to this for the player to keep it quirky.
Or the otherway around too even, I bet that locker hates us too for wearing it out like that :P
Maybe it should haunt or beat us up *giggles*
