Save file vanished

So I took a hiatus from SMB. The other day I felt like playing it for a bit, so I load the game, only to find my save file is gone. Starting a new game and looking at the laderboards... all of my individual stage records are still there. However, my combined record is reset (as are the individual stage times which appear in the top right, outside of the leaderboard).

What gives? :(
