First things first, a gamepad makes a world of difference in this game. Also for this particular level dont turn back, keep your forward momentum. Believe me there are some levels that make this look like a cakewalk. Also on second look are you running the whole time? Keep the run button pressed the entire time. Its needed for those longer distance jumps

But... this one is easy as pie! :P You can just do it in a single jump if you hold run and right for the whole time. Don't stop at the streams at all...
Something to take into account is, the closer to the fan blades you enter a stream, the higher you will be sent. You should only try to enter close to the blades to take the second key... at the beginning you should be fine with a normal jump.

Playing as Jill can be very helpful in most levels based on floating, but you have most likely not unlocked it yet... Just keep practising!

I don't see what's wrong with keyboard. I have 100%'d the game with it and I think I would've never done that with a gamepad... It's just the Shift+Space setup that sucks, but you can rebind those to something more confortable by editing a config file. A+S worked fine for me! :)
