Noises in Test Chamber 10?

I am wondering if anyone else has taken note of the fairly loud, mildly unsettling ambient sounds that play almost non-stop near the first area of Test Chamber 10. I know that virtually everyone has HEARD them, but I'm just wondering what people have to say. Also, please ignore portalsoup, I have no idea what they are trying to say.

in test chamber 1/19 there is no noises it not shut down but portal 2 did and thinking with time machine killed the game i had to delete it and reinstall it:(sorry to write something so sad.

I'm not sure if I'm picking out the sounds you're talking about. I thought that I heard some mechanical whooshes that seemed similar to the pistons that move wall panels around...

ye, i have same feeling. it's not like moving walls. noclipping this map didn't give answer on this sound(

I hear them too. They are fine for me(when not even good). These sounds can be heard in testchamber 18 too.
