2. Extract the installer from the zip
3. Run the Installer as Administrator
4. Accept the License Agreement
5. Enter FF8's install location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VIII by default)
6. Select which music you want and click Okay
7. Once the install finishes, close the installer
8. Launch FF8 through the new FF8+.exe program
"8. Launch FF8 through the new FF8+.exe program"
Where is this FF8+.exe program? Is it the FF8_Launcher in the "new folder"? Because nothing happens when I click on it. :/

Basically, when you launch the application, you get this:
FF8_Launcher.exe opened successfully.
Attempting to load by Process Name (FF8_EN.exe)...
Failed.
Attempting to load by Process Name (FF8_EN.exe)...
Failed.
Over and over and over again. What this means is, it's waiting for you to actually start the game. Once you do, the message changes, and the window stays in the background as you play. You'll notice the beautiful music once you actually start playing.
When you're running the game in windowed mode, you can bring up the Roses and Wine overlay with...F10 I believe? That allows you to change the volume levels.
The same way you open any other file. I'm afraid this isn't the place for learning basic Windows functions.
a zip.torrent is not a basic file.
Yes. It is.
You install a torrent, and then you open the file, which will begin the download through your torrent app. And then, you unpack the file.
These are basic functions these days.
Yeah I will not be doing that. Torrents are bad at getting virus not to mention they are illegal and torrenting files through my internet service is a good way of getting my service shut down as they like scan for that. Was warned day one about that garbage so no. When he returns it to the old fomod like version I will care for this untill then screw it,
There is absolutely nothing illegal about torrents.
If you use a torrent to download content that is illegal - such as a movie that is protected by copyright - then yes, that is indeed an illegal act, and there's also a good chance one of the data bits will come with a honeypot put out there by the copyright holder. That is when your ISP contacts you - not because you used a torrent, but because of copyright infringement.
As for the Roses and Wine mod, the mod itself is completely safe and perfectly legal. The only chance you're taking is with the people who are seeding the file, as they themselves could be infected with something. However, if you are using proper security messures, you'll still likely be just fine.
I had my doubts too at first, but it really is worth the extra bit of work. It's quite beautiful.
Other than that, I suppose you could try messaging the guy directly about your concerns and hopefully he can do something for you. Speaking for myself, everything worked just fine for me, and the file was clean.
