Rhythm Zone is an interesting take on rythm games where you provide your own music.
As you can see, this game has many negative reviews (however I believe that many of the reviews were written before the update which fixed the rhythm of the game). The beginner, and sometimes easy modes still have a problem with the rhythm where it doesn't feel like you're playing an instrument but rather just tapping keys whilst listening to a song. Thankfully the other difficultys don't have this problem.
The (only) unique selling point that this game has is taht you can use any song you like. For the most part this works, however I have noticed that some songs do have a problem (however mostly it would be live songs which is not a problem at all).
There are many negatives of this game; firstly the team that developed this game are no longer around so there is no support what-so-ever. Secondly is that the online servers are completely down, this means no leaderboard, no challenge mode and no multiplayer which locks many of the game's steam achievments that you would otherwise be able to unlock (and many of these achievments require the online modes to unlock). There's also a problem with my eyes feeling really strained due to the patters that appear on the screen whilst playing however it's not unbareable but rather more of an annoyance. The game also very quickly strains your fingers, which can be a problem too as how else are you going to play the game?
Do I recommend it? If it was on sale, then yes. The game is very entertaining however the DLC packs are pointless. This game may not be everyones cup of tea however unlike many games now days, there is a demo for you to try out where you can try out any five songs (or have five goes) for free.
