Fps drop

Having some issues with fantastic contraption in directors control mode, it drops frps like crazy, would disabling vsync or dsr help with this?
Running i6700k and nvidia 1080

Close programs that you don't use, and then restart the PC. If the problem perssist, disable VSync !

Yeh did all that no change, it works fine on normal mode but just can't get the director mode to work.
I have a gtx1080 and i7 6700k so shouldn't be dropping frames unplayable
