MDK Steam Fan Patch by Alyxx

[Alyxx the Rat]

I've made a fan patch which adds several things to the game and also makes it more Steam compatible. It might also fix any issues you have with the Direct3D version of the game.

Update:
The game now comes with wrappers out of the box. My patch now only installs the missing content from the Steam release.

I haven't had the chance to try out MDK2 HD yet to be honest so not sure about that.

Yeah I have both MDK and MDK2HD on Steam. :)

Do you know how to change resolution in game? The screen is downscaled :/

Hi, Reks. The instruction to change resolution is in my guide but for convenience I'll repeat it here. Just go where you installed my patch, which would be the MDK folder (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MDK) and run nglide_config.exe, then set your desired resolution in the Screen Resolution box. I suggest using "by desktop" or the resolution your desktop uses.

Okay, thanks:) I've played for a while right now, and i dont know how to save game lol, F2 key for save game is inactive :/

Hmm, not sure how to fix that, Reks but at least you should be able to save between levels.

After each level finishes you get the option to save.

I've reinstalled the game, applied your patch, and now save game is working every time i press f2 key ;)

Howdy Lyxx, would it be possible to modify your patch to get the MDK: Mission Laguna promo game to work as well? The game installs fine but the level textures and geometry do not load.

Hey, Matador Onion! I'm not sure and my patch is made exclusively for the full version on Steam. I'm not that familiar with the demo and how many features it had or whether it had the 3DFX version of MDK or not. In any case, you can just copy the '3dfx', 'glide', 'nglide_config.exe' and 'MDKD3D.EXE' files over to the demo folder and attempt to run the game using that executable. I can't guarantee it would work of course.

Good luck. If anything you should be able to play the DOS executable in DOSBox.
