Sacrifice
Is possible to get more souls ?
I've seen that the max starting limit for souls is 24, is possible to get more of it ?
(By the way, great underrated game !)

In multiplayer there are blue souls lying around mana fountains you can use to boost your soul count for free. Unfortunately, killing and converting enemy souls remains the sole (get it?) way of getting more, almost all of the time, in this game. This gets even worse if you use certain Charnel-specific abilities such as "Devour" or "Rend Soul" which permanently destroys them. This is one problem with this game that should have been addressed.

Not only that, but it means that the less souls you have in multiplayer compared to other players, the harder it will be for you to make a comeback because "soul advantage" tends to snowball (someone with more souls will nearly always have a better army than someone with less souls). The only exception I can think of is if the wizard with less souls has a higher level or has significantly more useful spells than his/her enemies.

I have a feeling that the designers liked this "a poor first encounter could cost you the game" element, though, because they mentioned it right in the play tips you can read before each mission and they included gameplay elements such as making your altar (the place where you make your last stand) an incredibly weak source of mana.

This game needs to receive a HD remake or a sequel, how can something this good pass on without anyone noticing ?

Easy; Sacrifice was released just when the era of the console dominance of gaming was beginning. The 32-bit era of consoles brought along casual gamers, loads and loads of them. The pressure was on game developers to make games that could easily be learned through 5 minutes of tutorials and no need to read a manual. And so, games like Sacrifice died a slow ignominious death, unable to deliver the profits the ones controlling the money demanded (everyone wanted their game to sell like Final Fantasy 7). Not many want to deal with at-times-finicky PCs anymore, and very few people controlling the money want to help bankroll less-than-surefire titles, or help them get the advertising they need.

Go look at an older game like Age of Empires 2. That game had an enormous manual and took time to learn. Very few gamers have the necessary patience anymore.

yes, we have the best and quicker manual ever: the internet, and even so just a few play games that take more than 10 min to learn.
