Can people steal your items?

i was in klamath and just looted Vic's house. i took his gun, and went to sell some items to the two traders. one of them asked "are you sure you didn't forget anything? hehe" and about ten minutes later, i noticed my gun and my spear were both gone. is this a bug, or did he steal my stuff?

I know there are a couple towns where people (kids) can steal from you. I didnt think any were in Klamath though

If I remember right, he might have. If you try the Steal skill on the merchant that said that, you should find your missing items.

You should go demand a refund. Really. "Service With Stealing Your Items DUMB☻♥☺" isn't good service to me.

Yes sometimes npcs will steal your items, traders, poor people, children. If you talk to them theres a chance that they will take an item of yours, just steal it back and you should be good.

The car only gets stolen in New Reno. It gets stolen the first time you take it there and move to a different area. No other time will it be stolen.


In The Den, kids will steal from you and take your stuff to Flicky, but if you decide to be kind, you can open an orphanage and the kids will all be moved there. Or, you can kill them, become infamous and earn the "Childkiller" perk.

not THE car, FROM the car lol. as i said its only with the restoration mod. also i didnt know the car could get stolen in reno!

EDIT: its the guy who gives you the quest to kill the hubologist, if you dont pay the punk to watch your car items can go missing from your boot and then you will have new dialog options with the culprit

If all you have in your inventory is a timebomb thats already counting down... they will steal it and run off with it. :)
