Fallout 2

Is naming my character Catherine unrealistic to the franchise's canon?
I've played this a while back and I'm thinking of getting it again. Back when I had the game before, I thought it would be cool to play as the mother of the protagonist of Fallout 3, Catherine.

I'm just wondering if there is any major flaws that would make this completely unrealistic. For example, the timeline is hundereds of years apart, or they're on opposite ends of the continent.

I also never finished it, so maybe there is something near the end that wouldn't work. Please, no spoilers.

Well, for starters the stories do take place opposite ends of the continent. I'm a bit rusty on the timelines, but I think they're roughly the same. As I recall, fallout 3 takes place in the 2270's, while Fallout NV takes place in the 2280's, so there's about a 10 years difference between the two games, assuming my memory is correct.

That being said, nothing that some good 'ol imagination can't take care of.
Well, you can have whatever character you want. For the sake of canon, the Chosen One is male, confirmed by the fact that he fathers a child with Leslie Anne Bishop that is mentioned in New Vegas.

But again, if you want to play a female character and name her whatever you want then do so. It is your game.

I once named my character for Fallout 3 Mr ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Indapussie. In New Vegas I named my character Mika Touchichi. In Fallout 1 I was Tali Zora Vas Vault 69.
Whatever floats you boat, brother.
