Problems with Companions in Combat

Almost every time when it's my companions' turn to attack the game will freeze briefly. I'll get a not responding on the title bar and my mouse goes to the loading icon. After about 15-30 seconds the game will on freeze and the combat turn will be over. It's like the game is thinking REALLY hard about my companions' turn. I only have FalloutFixit installed. Help?

Windows 7. First I had the crazy rainbow colors that everyone gets but FalloutFixit solved that. But I still get random slow downs until the turn is over.
