Captured Alien Turrets - cannot be used - bug or intentional?

Noticed that all 3 types of alien base 'turrets' do not work for the player
Captured several alien bases, with pedestal mini-guns that are just decoration once I place my core in the base.

Now I have just captured an Alien Tower V2 with 4 of the 5 turrets intact, but again these are now just decorations, as neither IonCanon or IonCanon02 can be interacted with (no T option) and while all say they are on in the base summary, not 1 of the 3 types does anything.

Yes this is a bug of sorts, at present the turrets cannot be used by the player. Its being looked at.
