DOOM
FPS dropping like crazy- Drivers ARE updated
When I first started playing I had to drop the graphics to medium to get a consistenct 30 FPS, played two missions then switched to Multiplayer where I had to drop down to low to get that, then about halfways through a match my FPS tanked and I took a break from the game. Coming back now I started the 3rd campaign mission and decided to boot the graphics back up to medium, now no matter what I do my FPS fluctuates between 8 and around 29 or so, rarely going to 30.

My drivers are up to date, I've even checked for new updates and everything says I'am all caught up- nothing new to download. So, what's the problem? I'm above or at least at the recomended specs in all regards, so there is no reason this should happen. If I can't find a way to fix it I'll be requesting a refund.

Specs: Win 7, AMD FX 9550, 16 gb ram, and an AMD 7800 series 4gb card. Seems everything is up to the reccommended specs.

Try restarting your computer. This has happened to me with other Bethesda games.

This morning when I tried the game it was pretty choppy so I put graphics to medium, now I get back from work and after booting up I can play High/Ultra nice and smooth

What are your rig specs? I own an FX 8350, 32gb ram & an R9 390x 8gb card on win 10 64bit and it is running very smoothly at around 60fps with no stutter on ultra at 1080p.

Thank for the reply, unfortunately after restarting nothing changed. I've this computer put up with a lot more stress than this game is giving, so I know it's not on my end.

Sounds like you have a weak GPU if the game is only running at 30 fps.

What is your computer specs. It might be totally what you get with the current hardwares you have.

I also have massive fps drops. Absolutely not everywere, just on a fix place. It drops Form 60 to 44 to 30 and stay. If i walk away, my fps rise up to 60. iam playing on a MSI GTX 980ti 6g with nightmare settings @1440p.

I believe nvidias driver isnt optimized

Everything is fine except that 7800 series. I have a 7870 2GB and i can run the game at low/medium settings 60 fps with some drops to 55.

You sure you have 4GB VRAM on that 7800 series ? I don't remember the 7800 series having 4GB. Even the 7900 series have 3GB on them.

Can you tell us what is your FPS if you put everthing at low.

The 7800 series is 4 years old +

I know i got one and i can only play at low settings with some medium options to get 60 fps.

I guess i could put medium/high to have 30 fps but i'm one of those guy who cant play a game at 30 fps.

I do have an i7 4770k so i might have a couple more fps compared to you for the CPU.

What 7800 series do you have ? 7850 ? 7870 ? 7890 ?

Unfortunately I don't remember. I have been considering updating my card recently anyways, I suppose it's about time to do so and that new Nvidia card looks sexy.

Back to the original question, on the lowest settings I get min 40 fiarly consistenly, but taking it up to just medium drops the whole game to 15. Maybe there's a specific setting that's causing the problem?
I have an R9 290 and it typically runs at 60 FPS, but i get weird stutters, and sometimes i get random MASSIVE drops for no reason. I can be in a large room with many enemies and it runs smoothly, then a tiny room with 3 enemies and it tanks.

to fix ur fps take that 7800 out and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes on defrost mode put it back in ur pc and you will get 60+ fps constant
