Siege quest. I've tried everything. The frame rate fix didn't work. The game is unfinishable. How is this still an issue years after release? How was this not fixed in the update?

So I started this quest a few days ago and I had a disagreement with the miller because I thought I was supposed to take the cuman prisoner to Rattay. After that, I lost the option to interact with
him and my only (optional) goal was to free the cuman myself. Thought I'd come back at night to have an easier time freeing him and I left, and ended up forgetting about this quest for several hours
