@texhnolyze: i dont have msi afterburner program, so i cant close that; restarting steam didnt work :(
Also, have you tried setting your system audio quality to 44khz?
Additionally, try disabling the Steam Overlay just for Tales of Symphonia.

Do you have MSI Afterburner, RadeonPRO or RivaTunner? If yes, disable it.
Also, disable your antivirus, since some of them seem to hate the DRM used by this port.
That's what I did anyway in the end and it ran fine for me, except that sometimes on menus it would pull up a rectangle of almoststationary pixels, like a long thin screenshot just off the centre of the window - Fixed easily by click ing out of the window and then back in.
Yep, did that this last time around. Still crashed.
I'll wait a bit to see if the developers come up with a solution for the sec issue. I've got 2 weeks, hopefully there'll be a workaround before then.
