Workaround for 16:10 Aspect Ratio Problem!
Nvidia users only! Sorry!

- Open Nvidia Control Panel
- Under Display, go to Adjust desktop size and position
- Under Scaling, select
-- No Scaling
-- Perform Scaling with GPU
-- Check Override the scaling mode set by games and programs

In the game menu, set your resolution to a 16:9 Resolution like 1920x1080 and run in fullscreen.
You will get black bars on the top and bottom, but you won't have the stretched image anymore.

Keep in mind this will affect any program that utilizes scaling to get to the right resolution.

I had tried this (Nvidia control panel), but I ended up with black bars around the top, bottom, *and* sides of the screen. This is because the native resolution of my monitor (16:10) is larger than the closest available 16:9 setting.

In other words, the entire image is shrunk and (for me) it's exactly the same result as playing in a 16:9 windowed mode, except you see a black background behind it instead of your desktop. :(

It's not the optimal solution, but I prefer it to the stretched image I was getting before. If your monitor has a 16:9 setting it shouldn't cause any damage using it.
The Nothing Man Oct 21, 2015 @ 12:26am
but how can you see?
for me the strech it vertical, yours is horizontial, so mine is smashing things from sides to middle making my char a stick figure, cant play like that,
id rather it be your stretch then i could at least play

ughh

i even asked before buying if this supported 4:3 and 5:4 or other than 16:9 hq said it did.. but they arent the devs (the game is coded to support all aspects.. not just 1)

ughh
hellp prays for fix
Thanatos Oct 21, 2015 @ 12:31am
so no matter what the game is set to 16:9 setting on lower res...any news on if itll be lowered and not stretch as much
The Nothing Man Oct 21, 2015 @ 12:34am
thats what i want to know

and its ANY aspect OTHER than 16:9 and you wont get a real picture of the game correctly
period

ive tried all fixes, even hex, and windowed, gfx ccc panel scaling, all res in game, nothing fixes my issue :(

devs dont give a rats bum, zero support in USA for any title for this dev and company ZERO
thats just worse that ubisoft.. and that.. is saying lots

The game's been out a day and they're already working on a patch for several issues, that is very different from zero support. In the meantime why not just hook up to a different monitor/tv?

Thanks for the tips, will try it when I get home, did not wanna play in window mode and was quite annoying to have it stretched out, I personally do not mind black borders as kind of used to it for most titles i play with anyhow.
The Nothing Man Oct 21, 2015 @ 12:54am
heya thanks for the reply

1. I tried an older widescreen (but sadly its 16:10)
2. I cant use widescreen monitors ( I have meniers disease so i get vertigo when I pan my eyes left right to fast) this is the sad reason I already dont own any tvs or monitors that arent just 5:4

3. so I did try a widescreen montior, just again it wasnt the kind this game wants

4. when i mean support i mean, a phone, email or forum base. all games should have this, some dont but usually its indie devs. and even then check the game i recently helped on and its reviews are better than this game

Quest for infamy! :)
loved helping on that, as little as I did do.
of course its ancient in terms of code, as we ran basically same tools ags ;)

anyway I wish i didnt have this disease, I cant go on planes, up mountains, cant play fps games, nothing with motion blur on etc.
3d movies, or large screens i cant watch etc

its hell.. trust me google meniers disease, or trust meeee
id have a 16:9

how do you know a patch is coming to fix aspect issues only thing i know about is stutter flicker ing fix and no dev has posted this its only a guess from beta people

im lost here,

anyway we had witcher 3, which has now 14 patches if you count the new dlc
they had a patch out day 1 and 2, then more each weeeeek
and you can email, call, post in forums

etc ( AND THEY ARE IN POLAND!)

thats what I meant by zero support.

Ive not once seen a dev post here, we are working on all these issues ty for such a great post
to the OP that made the huge issues list

again if it was as simple as just getting a new monitor I would
but again, this game should and does work on all aspects on ps3, but no not the port.
so..
again I was told before buying .. and I made sure to ask..
that this game would support all res and monitors that the original ps3/ps4 did
5:4 and 16:10 included

it only supports 16:9 ;(

where do you see a dev posting about a patch i really would like to see that!
im not joking!

for you.. do you have 16:10?
5:4? how did you even get the game to work with black borders ? i dont mind those!
but all res keep it smooshed, even in windowed mode and even with black borders

Tenerezza Oct 21, 2015 @ 8:34am
I got 3x 16:10 monitors yes, and the above setup works, make sure you select GPU instead of display for scaling.

I can't even imagine how that must look, as 16:10 (using this method) puts a large black border around all four sides of the image. And you're spreading it across three screens? Can you give a screen capture (not a Steam screenshot, as that's not representative of what's actually being displayed on the monitors)?

If your monitor's resolution is higher than 1920x1200 then you will have a border around the entire image. I don't know what other resolutions the game supports, but if possible select a higer resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I suspect any 16:10 monitor will have a 16:10 aspect ratio as its highest resolution (i.e a 16:10 monitor that caps out at 1680x1050 won't have a 16:9 resolution higher than 1600x900).

That's just my guess, though.

True, I didn't think about lower resolutions than mine. Well, it's the best we can do until the devs fix the scaling issue.
The Nothing Man Oct 21, 2015 @ 2:11pm
no one thinks about others that the issue

im 5:4 and all but again 2 games work at that res
