## Bug 2 ## Xbox 360 Controller doesn't work on Ark as it does on Windows 7.

(I hit Apply and now I can't click on any of the buttons to get to the Settings page - may I suggest adding in Up Down Left Right arrow controls for the menu. Hopefully reinstalling fixes it.)
When I am traversing the terrain I get 20 - 30 FPS looking at rocks, foliage and plants, etc...
When I When I'm in the water or running towards the beach I get 60 FPS. I never got 60 FPS on WIndows, so this tells me that eventually in the future my Linux Gaming will bench better than Windows - this is no surprise really, just thought I'd share.
I get 100 - 200 FPS on the Title Screen.
As I'm sure devs already know, the survivor 3D avatar appears empty as seen in screenshot

If this was web development I would simply think that the devs forgot to refference the correct DIRECTORY_SEPERATOR as Windows assets are C:\Program Data (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Ark Foreward Slash
And Linux/Unix/Mac Assets use Backslash eg: /home/me/.local/steam/apps/Ark
On my GTX 970 the entire 3D Avatar Box is transparent. On my girls Linux GTX 750 Ti SC only the silouhette of the man or woman was transparent and sorrounded with a black that filled the portrait rectangle.
This also happens with Storm United which uses the Unreal 4 Engine also, F12 Screenshotter built into Steam returns a artifacted JPEG image - I'm not sure why.

It seems that when trying to host a dedicated server the dialog won't accept a single character or character + number password.

I think this was done intentionally by devs as the host button was previously simply closing the binary and not launching a xterm or gnome-terminal or whatever for the server to run in.
Thanks for mentioning that I just tried Epic
## Optimization Issue B ##
I think I get a better frame rate on Epic than I do on High graphics settings. I'm getting between 35 - 40 FPS on Epic whereas 20 - 30 on High.
It seems like some shadow shaders or something is disabled on Linux until the devs fix it, but wow! :)
Unigine hits temp of 65c under load, going to order some case fans as its certainly summer.
Oh its an Nvidia 960 with latest stable drivers.
Looks like when harvesting some palm trees and bushes I get a graphical effect glitch

There's a setting to turn on FPS on the Shift + Tab screen under Settings Dialog and the right most tab.
Works for me, try Ultimate if you can - I get 40 - 45 FPS, so you might get 30-35 given that you're a GTX 900 series I imagine.
Perhaps try something like this:
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ARK/ShooterGame/Binaries/Linux/ShooterGame -resx=1920 -resy=1080 -vsync -opengl3
And manually set the size? Any Unreal 4 Engine parameter can be fed to the exe/binary I imagine.
(Although I had to reinstall when I was doing it earlier, so let me know if that works.)
Thanks for the answer. The game did launch but still at 1600x900. The game wont let me change it in the options which is why I am looking for a config file.
It did let me change it once and That caused a big issue once I change it too far then it wouldnt let me change it again. I should have just left it...
