## Bug 1 ##
This thread will be where I post my Linux Bugs.

My setup is a GTX 970 with i7 920 & 8GB Ram Arch Linux and nVidia Drivers 352.21.

All Settings on High on ARK.

Firstly, on Gnome 3 with a two monitor setup the cursor takes the width of both monitors (as one square) to determine cursor position. If I only had one monitor it might correctly triangulate the cursors postion so hovering over buttons on the home screen would "hilight" or "hover".

Also if the window is not fullscreen the vertical cursor position is off by about 50 pixels - it's as if the game gets the Screen Size and not the Windows Size to triangulate cursor events.

(( Edit: It seems this bug only happens after "Maximizing the Window", prior to Maximizing the Window mouse triangulation seems to wok correctly. ))

As a fellow Linux user (Ubuntu 14.04) who is considering investing in this game, can anyone confirm/deny similar issues running under Linux?
Safe Da Erf Jul 1, 2015 @ 5:07pm
@Isomodia: Yes the game has many issues at the moment, my wife tried on her GTX 750 Ti SC - I think they'll be fleshed out within the week but can't say how long for sure. All I know is we own 2 copies and are buying a 4th copy for my 2 other brothers who uses Linux.

## Bug 2 ## Xbox 360 Controller doesn't work on Ark as it does on Windows 7.

## Bug 3 ## On a multi monitor setup (2) on the Options page clicking on a setting spawns the dropdown box with a ofset (Notice it's about 800 pixels to the right when it should line up with the resolution box.)

(I hit Apply and now I can't click on any of the buttons to get to the Settings page - may I suggest adding in Up Down Left Right arrow controls for the menu. Hopefully reinstalling fixes it.)

## Bug 1 Continued ## I re-downloaded and set to Fullscreen Windowed 1920x1080. The cursor isn't locked to the fullscreen window. Also, the cursor to OpenGL alignment is broken.

## Optimization Issue A ##: It seems low-framerate is related to particle effects. For example in the Inventory Screen and while looking at the Particle Fountains in the distance I get a framerate of 10 FPS on a GTX 970.

When I am traversing the terrain I get 20 - 30 FPS looking at rocks, foliage and plants, etc...

When I When I'm in the water or running towards the beach I get 60 FPS. I never got 60 FPS on WIndows, so this tells me that eventually in the future my Linux Gaming will bench better than Windows - this is no surprise really, just thought I'd share.

I get 100 - 200 FPS on the Title Screen.

## Bug 4 ##
As I'm sure devs already know, the survivor 3D avatar appears empty as seen in screenshot
http://postimg.org/image/v96sjf265/

If this was web development I would simply think that the devs forgot to refference the correct DIRECTORY_SEPERATOR as Windows assets are C:\Program Data (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Ark Foreward Slash

And Linux/Unix/Mac Assets use Backslash eg: /home/me/.local/steam/apps/Ark

On my GTX 970 the entire 3D Avatar Box is transparent. On my girls Linux GTX 750 Ti SC only the silouhette of the man or woman was transparent and sorrounded with a black that filled the portrait rectangle.

## Bug 5 ##
This also happens with Storm United which uses the Unreal 4 Engine also, F12 Screenshotter built into Steam returns a artifacted JPEG image - I'm not sure why.

Ok, found one that effect my Linux game. The character creation sceen is blank, I see the sliders and stuff but dont see the preview of what my charater will look like. Other then that, OMG I am getting over 30fps most of the time with everything on Epic and the res slider almost all the way to the top, which is better than in Windows.

## Bug 6 ##
It seems that when trying to host a dedicated server the dialog won't accept a single character or character + number password.
http://postimg.org/image/naf79a4w1/

I think this was done intentionally by devs as the host button was previously simply closing the binary and not launching a xterm or gnome-terminal or whatever for the server to run in.

Thanks for mentioning that I just tried Epic

## Optimization Issue B ##
I think I get a better frame rate on Epic than I do on High graphics settings. I'm getting between 35 - 40 FPS on Epic whereas 20 - 30 on High.

It seems like some shadow shaders or something is disabled on Linux until the devs fix it, but wow! :)

Is it stable for everyone? It crashes my system with NVRM: GPU at 0000:01:00.0 has fallen off the bus. issues, not yet sure if its hardware or temp.

Unigine hits temp of 65c under load, going to order some case fans as its certainly summer.

Oh its an Nvidia 960 with latest stable drivers.

There's a setting to turn on FPS on the Shift + Tab screen under Settings Dialog and the right most tab.

Works for me, try Ultimate if you can - I get 40 - 45 FPS, so you might get 30-35 given that you're a GTX 900 series I imagine.

I cannot click the buttons in the options to change the resolution methods. It worked once but it is very finicky. Is there a config file that this data can be set?
I tried using Sublime to find all mentions of my resolution to no avail

Perhaps try something like this:
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ARK/ShooterGame/Binaries/Linux/ShooterGame -resx=1920 -resy=1080 -vsync -opengl3

And manually set the size? Any Unreal 4 Engine parameter can be fed to the exe/binary I imagine.

(Although I had to reinstall when I was doing it earlier, so let me know if that works.)

Thanks for the answer. The game did launch but still at 1600x900. The game wont let me change it in the options which is why I am looking for a config file.
It did let me change it once and That caused a big issue once I change it too far then it wouldnt let me change it again. I should have just left it...
