Breeding - Imprinting 100%
I have put something together that I hope it will help everyone else. This spreadsheet will help any private servers to tweak their mature and cuddle interval multipliers. If someone makes an application based on this, that will be great. I just threw this together for visibility.

To use this spreadsheet, you will need to go to the Duration tab. Enter the cuddle interval on the cell B2. It will calculate automatically for you and find the mature multiplier you are using, from 2 to 500. Below that tab, I had a separate calculation for individual dinos. This tab is being referenced on the other two tabs.

Note: If you make changes to the other two tabs, it will possibly break something so if you know what you are doing, go ahead.

Mature/Cuddle Interval calculation[drive.google.com]

Dino Interactions:
1. Cuddle
2. Walk
3. Kibble

FYI, the kibbles are random every time. The kibbles that are being used for interactions are:
Ankylo
Carbonemys
Dilo
Dimetrodon
Dimorphodon
Dodo
Gallimimus
Lystrosaurus
Pachy
Parasaur
Pteranodon
Raptor
Stego
Terror Bird
Triceratops

Kibbles needed in Scorched Earth:
Camelsaurus or Morellatops
Gallimimus
Mantis
Spiney Lizard or Thorny Dragon
Terror Bird
Vulture

Kibbles needed in Aberration (new - 1/12/2018)
Ankylo
Baryonyx
Carbonemys
Dimetrodon
Featherlight
Glowtail
Raptor
Rock Drake
Spino
Stego
Trike

Aznwr, if that is the case, you should try 0.13 (23 - 31 minutes). You will have extra time at the end.

If I am trying to get 100% imprinting on raptors and above at 45x mature rate with .21 i see raptors get 1 imprint for 100% but say direwolf gets 1 imprint at 77% if I am looking at your sheet correctly. what setting would you recomend so I don't have to micro manage every 10-20minutes but still get 100% on dino's above raptors or do i have to use something like .04 to make it work

I hadn't played Ark for a few months until this week, so I missed when the imprinting mechanic was introduced.(I did an awful lot of breeding before this, so i understand the breeding mechanics pretty well)

I must say that I find these timers strange and I am still trying to get my head around how it all works. It seems you have to have a detailed knowledge of the mechanic and maturation times to get the settings correct.

On my test server with a maturation multiplier of 50x, I set the cuddle timer to 0.05x. I was unable to get 100% imprinting on an Argy, it ran out of time at 92%. I changed it to 0.04x and was then able to get 100% but was I just unlucky with the random timer the first time and lucky the second time?

I think I need to study your spreadsheet and try and get a better understanding of how it works, so thanks for sharing it.

Les

@ShortBusReject

The risk of making the maturation speed faster is the possibility of not getting 100% because the cuddle interval becomes shorter if you want to achieve pretty much all dinos above raptor. The shorter the cuddle interval, the more imprinting you have to do. The best cuddle interval you should do and I know it's tight, but still give you plenty time at the end is 0.035 (between 6 and 8 minutes).

I know it was easier to do breeding before they implemented this breeding mechanism and I have done a lot of breeding. I don't do much breeding now unless I really need to replace my existing creatures. I just tried breeding in scorched earth, which by the way is harder especially when you cannot have all the scorched earth kibbles and I was glad I was able to raise one argy without getting the mantis kibble lol or I would have been screwed.

With this breeding mechanism, you have to determine what the best maturation speed and cuddle interval you feel comfortable in doing. As you make the maturation faster, the cuddle interval must be shorter, which mean you will have to imprint more often than usual. The timer is random that you could possibility get a lot of maximum cuddle interval timer or vice versa. Another consideration you have to think is the care. Every seconds count. The care is very random so you have to be prepared for everything. Therefore, you have to have all 15 kibbles ready. If you don't have the kibble with you and you have to look for it, time is ticking. You should have clear path to walk your dino because if something is obstructing your way, you will lose more seconds. Believe me, I have screwed few times especially at the beginning when I didn't have all the kibbles on me at the time of care or something was obstructing my way.

Doing some breeding on SE i noticed that they do in fact want SE kibbles, and i dont mean just mantis and moth and vulture but EVERY kibble on SE, that means argy and rex, lystro and raptor. Any animal that spawns on SE that lays kibble-able eggs will have their kibble asked for eventually. I use the magical resource crops mod and had the kibble crop ready in case something wanted stego or spino kibble but the babys have yet to ask for anything unobtainable on the map. Granted there are a lot of kibbles to choose from now and so far i MIGHT have been lucky only getting SE available kibbles(Though wanting mantis kibble isnt lucky in my eyes XD), so there still could be a chance that the kibble asked for could be a non SE obtainable one.

Thanks for the reply. Our main server is rumning SE and has a maturation timer of 10x. The cuddle timer was on 1, so I was unable to get 100% on my first dragon. I snagged myself a 120 fire egg yesterday and would like to get 100% imprinting this time. I was originally going to try a 0.1 timer but this might be a lot of work, so I might try 0.2.

Got to give you guys credit for the effort even on modded easier servers. My tribe has basically quit Ark (we already have post 100 of the new se dinos) I wish I could imprint but the official servers are just way to time consuming
crepemyrtlesl Sep 29, 2016 @ 4:41am
@Kisston

That could possibly true if they will include the argentavis, carno, rex, and scorpion and possibly the new dinos, which are archaeopteryx and tapejara. I haven't checked the dev kit thoroughly if they added these kibbles for breeding. I would imagine they will since there are only 6 kibbles from original one that are included. Raising the wyvern is hard enough lol.

@Pointy

My servers use maturation speed of 10 and cuddle timer interval of 0.20. Either you use 0.1 or 0.2 for cuddle interval, you will get 100% for anything higher than raptor. We just choose 0.20 because it has more gap and I can do other things away from the computer.

That reminds me, I will update the spreadsheet to add the timer for scorched earth animals. I will add more cuddle timer as well so expect changes to the spreadsheet tonight.

@crepemyrtlesl
thank you for your hard work on this spreadsheet. is there a way to include values for cuddles at for example .235 instead of .23 or allow for a section on the cuddle page where we could enter a custom duration that would be accepted by the duration calculation page.
I tried to add an interval setting on the cuddle page it calculated it for me but would not recognize it on the duration page.

Thanks again for all your hard work with this

@ShortBustReject

I have updated the spreadsheet. You can enter any cuddle interval values now and it will calculate how many imprinting you have. The cuddle sheet is not changed. That is only a reference.

The spreadsheet has been updated and the list of kibbles needed in scorched earth has been added.
Pointy Sep 30, 2016 @ 11:49pm
0.2 cuddle worked great with the Wyvern, although it still took all day even with a 10x maturation multiplier. I was easy able to get 100% even though I made a major balls up...

About half way through the imprinting, while walking it, it fell into the water which made it take flight and it would not land again. I tried leaving the area and logging out and back in and it made no difference. After wasting about 20 minutes, I decided the reboot the server which worked!

So tip of the day, don't walk your birds near water!!!!!

Les

Thank you for this. The work is much appreciated. :)
Great tool for obsessive breeders. ;-p
