CRYPTARK

Update Roadmap
Here's a very rough outline of our development goals as we move forward with Early Access. Please note that a lot of these will be subject to change, things may get removed, and new goals may be added. Nothing is carved in stone, but here's what we have in mind for the future of Cryptark!

-Oct 7th: Early Access Launch.

-circa Oct 14th-21st: Post-Launch Patch, including some balancing tweaks, bug fixes, and small additions that didn't quite make the launch.

-Large Update every following month including new features and content.
These are some of the big feature goals we hope to include, in no particular order:

-Persistent Unlock system: Gain access to new player-suit types that play differently, alternative suit paint-schemes, maybe some crazy weapons and items, all that fun stuff.

-Narrative elements: Who the heck are these skeleton aliens? Whats the deal with the creepy snake g-men? What are they doing with all this xenotechnology? Little nuggets of interesting narrative sprinkled throughout the game to spice things up.

-COOP Multiplayer: Pull a heist with a friend, nuff said.

-Arcade Mode: optional game mode more in line with a standard roguelike. Progress through levels, grab new weapons, ammo, and health as you go, just don't die!

-More Game Content: More weapons, items, enemies, systems, ship designs, just more cool stuff.

As a side-note, we won't be clearing the Leaderboards during Early Access, but each new update will receive a new Leaderboard instead.

Always happy to hear devs being so vocal about their future updates, specially when it comes to Early Access games. Apotheon where plenty of fun and this game just confirms they make it from the heart

Please focus on co-op , like to crack that cryptark with a friend! :D

Or don't focus on co-op, i'm mainly a solo player. Focus on character's development and (re)playability.

Hm, na.

Focus on everything everyone ask, one by one, all together, and release one different game per player. Tomorrow. Hm, na.

Now.

Very excited to see this happen. I hear alot of player are not liking the time limit missions. Maybe you guys can still have this feature and have missions that does not require a speed run. Boss raids? Rare weapons? Maybe crafting or augmenting..that would be cool. So far the ideas i see are very promising and i dont see why you can not do that....good luck.

Thanks for an awesome and challenging game. It has royally kicked my ass so far. I'm not great with forums and format, but I do have a couple of things that would be nice to see worked on or improved.

1- It would be really nice to have a customizable targeting cursor. I lose the white crosshairs a lot in frantic combat. The ability to change size, shape and color would be a nice improvement.

2- I have an older HP Voodoo DNA gaming mouse w/ 5 button functionality. I've tried to map controls to buttons 4 and 5 where the Option menu registers the change and show the button assignment, however does not function in play. I'm not sure if this is a limitation on my end or a bug in the mappng code.

I appreciate the amazing work on Cryptark, I bow down to those that have the creative art skills and have solved the enigma of code. I really appreciate the work you have done. I imagine that you all remember the 8-bit days of 3 lives and no continues, you definitely bring the memories of that frustration here.

Loving this game so far. The time limit is a shame but does make it challenging. Maybe add perks or pick-ups that allow you to extend the time? Can't wait to see what else you guys have in store for this game.

Amazing game so far. I kind of wish there was a difficulty setting, just becuase it's thoroughly kicking my ass so far, but I suppose that will make victory all the more sweet, if and when I achieve it.

A couple of minor things I'd love to see implemented down the road:

1) a larger armory testing room. It's such a confined space that it's hard to judge the maximum distance on several weapons, especially grenades and missiles. Yes, I know I can back into the hallway to fire, but it'd be nice if we had more room for targeting targets.

2) some form of basic stats on the weapon select screen. It doesn't have to be as detailed as the wiki, but at the very least, I like knowing how much damage a weapon actually does (it's hard to tell on the targets, especially with rapid fire and big boom weapons)

People already said this, but i'd like to see customizable targeting cursor.
Many people don't like time attack gameplay, so how about different game modes or maybe maps without timer but some other limitations or twice as big as normal maps?
Co-op and pvp would be awesome.

Just local. No online support planned.

I would love to do it online - but there are just too many guys in a ship, too much data to sync between players. Would be extremely hard to do

how will local work then? Split screen? Needs to be really I would think as you won't be able to achieve seperate objectives or anything. You'd be tied together. Which would still be fun, but would severely limit the potetnial of a coop heist
