ROTS or FOTS?

Just asking, which should I buy? If anyone could take the time to give me a good answer, that'd be great :) I don't just want a blatant "Get FOTS" type answer.

FOTS, time period is a lot more interesting, adds a lot more content, gatling guns, gatlings are fun. Rots is cool but i just really prefer fots.

It seems like they want you to pay extra for factions in FOT'S which is a ripoff so i've never ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it. I do have ROTS but have barely played it as there are only like three clans(with two sub clans under each).

FOTS clans that you purchase are actually worth the money though, especially the Sendai clan.

ROTS is fun and is a great game, I didn't care for the lack of different troops you can get. FOTS on the other hand is really , so different then Shogun 2 that it is like playing a completely different type of game. One could never go wrong in owning all 3 though.

Looks like he already made a choice but anyway it's all about preference, do you prefer ancient warfare? Or a mode moderna approach with rifles and cannons? They are both good and worth the price IMO.

Based on responses here and reveiws online, FOTS will probably be my choice, though I do enjoy melee combat in Total War games most. Though I don't object to Fire arrows in vanilla :)

Well it is possible to use a traditional army in FOTS, the units are actually cheaper if you don't industrialize, I just don't know how effective that would be.
