I spent an hour trying to just load the game. Never even did multiplayer and have 40 hours logged. People rave about how this is the best total war game ever, but I had less trouble playing medieval 2 on a toaster and rome 2 plays 10x better than this at highest graphics. I really don't get how people like this linear glitchy pos with no real flavor at all. And now I am a cheater for wanting too just play some.

but if you do reread that popup steam mention its addware/virus so maybe this is another no-man-land issue and fall back at own security app.

but anyway, aslong sega,CA dont even make pinned down thread with FAQ.
such steam post with solutions, then it will/be a older post even CA forum mentions this with possible solutions. but they dont have a 100% fix and neather do i.

you can try adwcleaner but nothing is a 100% bulletproof solutions
and rest you can read in the other steam post, they require command reset

and do complain to sega,CA its still there job to make a FAQ, other game company have several steam pinned down post with FAQ that help ppl.

I have similar problem with blocking launch - accusing of pirate copy pop up - when all I did was play the game in offline mode at a different location. On returning home to play as normal I get this daft pop-up. This is a Steam as well as Sega issue in my opinion. Anyone know if Steam can correct it without full reinstall? will I lose all save games and progress?

You can hang on to the Save Game files and insert them into a new reinstall, if you go that route.

Ninety percent of the time problems like these are due to Anti Virus or Real Time Scanning prevent 2 way communication, look there first and make sure you are allowing S2 through them and any firewalls you might have.

I know it sounds like cookie cutter advice, but it is true that most of the problems are AV or similar things.

I've submitted a request to Sega support so will update if anything to report from that, otherwise will re-install sometime. A relief all is not lost - thank you.

Same thing started happening to me today mate. However it works fine in Dx9 for me, but claims piracy or cheats if I try Dx11.

Contacting Sega worked - they came back and told to check integrity of cache twice to ensure all files ok and it worked - I had already done this before I contacted them, but doing it after contacting Sega did the trick for me and game is launching fine as normal now.

I'll have to say this is by far the most unhelpfull community I have ever seen.
On other games I play a persons question/thread gets a real (helpfull) answer within 4hours. Over here the answer is look for yourself if you even get an answer.

The developer has long left this forum.

The community just looks dead to me.

you know what i feel like a freaking parrot, and dont want to reply on same topic that has been ongoing for 2 years, i guess google or other search engine is not invented where you live.

because most people here know very well that we do help, but you come in here and think you have rights to comment on who help others, and then blame steam community for lack of replya

how about you learn to search and read, even TW forum has mentions this.

I understand and i play other games where we parrot stuff the entire time because we understand that people save a lot of time that way and that this builds a community.

I myself google stuff first why do you imply that I don't?

I have not gotten even a bit of help as of yet and it has been hours on other games I would've had help allready.

If you are implying that I don't google on the thrad about mods I started then you are plain wrong.

I did google, what I really want is the community's feedback on the different ones I value that information. and no I do not trusth the comment section on the modages.
