think so, and if you get it on event sale then most time dlc is apox 75% off.

but dont forget this game comes in 2 collections in one game fall of the samurai
and shogun 2 and its 2 diffrent campaigns + ROTS so its 3 campaigns.

ps.
Blood pack - not part of collection ( worth it, if you want blood and gore as we say )

Yes I would play rise of the Samurai first, it easier because you can make more gold and buy bigger and better armies. Fall of the Samurai is very fun.

fots is a must but if you play multy on vanilla units dlc are interesting and some clans as Ikko iki and otomo later on are fun to change a little but for beghin the game is just ok as it is and fots is the only one realy important because he double the experience iven in the multy

If I can can only get one collection should I get the fall of the samurai collection or total war shogun 2 collection?

to start is good to start with vanilla or you will ruin a little the experience for it if you play fots before in my opinion because the time ambientation is after...so in my opinion start with vanilla is more traditional (bow swords and spears + horses) fots are more modern (2 line formations and guns + cavallary and cannons)
In multy fots is more easy to start with

I think your confusing rise of the samurai with vanilla shogun 2 as Rise of the Samurai is easily the hardest.

If you are new player to Total War games then I would suggest that you buy only Shogun 2 at first unless, of course, you find a bundle of all 3 (shogun 2, fall of the samurai, rise of the samurai) for a good deal. Every now and then there is a big discount going on for the bundle so definitely do your research before purchasing.

Shogun 2 is a classic among Total War games and despite being released many years ago, it i still a masterpiece and a good starting place for someone who wants to get a good idea about how Total War games play out.

Just one tip: If this is your first time playing a Total War game, remember that initially it is a bit overwhelming because there are so many unknown variables and a stiff learning curve. One common mistake that many new players do is auto-resolving fights and trying to rush through their campaign without paying attention to anything else. We have all been there and have done that in the past when we first started playing it, so don't worry!

I recommend that you take your time exploring all the elements that the game has to offer and try to watch some youtube videos to get a basic idea of how things play out, if you happen to find your self feeling lost. There are many nice and helpful youtube channels of "Let's play" videos. One I would personally recommend to a new player is the following channel: MrSmartDonkeyLP

Shogun 2 is one of these games that you initially have a hard time getting into and might abandon it in your library for a while, but it grows on you over time and you will see yourself always coming back for one more campaign no matter how many hours you have already played. Hope you enjoy it!

No the original Shogun 2 during the time of war is the hardest.

The only way I could see that statement being true is if you were playing the game on the lowest difficulty (easy) which is a fairly bad idea as it is so easy its not reflective of the game on any difficulty above that.
On normal or higher Rise of the Samurai is hands down the hardest campaign and most players wouldn't even make it to the point where it was all out war proper.
